HI amanda and thanks for the post! That really kept me going right about NOW (midnight), as I was just thinking how much I would love a famous amos.

I actually decided against curves. I went to ballys ( I have this 8 week free pass) and really liked it ALOT they have a pool!!!!! that is so cool I love swimmimg! then ivisted my friends gym ( we were planning on working out everyday at 2 during her lunch) that did not work out no baby sitting during those hours. There is just so muchmore at ballys things I think I may nned now that curves doesnt offer. Think I need to step it up a notch. Anyway gona rideout this pass see how much I go and if I like it.


Today food wise was great!
BK had eggs bacon LC bread.
no lunch
dinner had tacos in LC tortilla.
snack..LC tortilla with spindip!
About 75 oz of water and one cup of coffee.
tomorrow, gonna hit the gym!

Thanks for your post to my question on the WISH boards. I really appreciate it! :hug:

I worked out at Ballys when I was in college and I loved it! I never used the pool, but I enjoyed the cardio room and the weight room a lot. I did aerobics there a lot too, but I'm sure a lot of that has changed since 1996. :blush:

Anyway I woke up SICK today! O MY thank god hubby was home, he got the kid off to school and I slept till 1 in the afternoon!
I didnt eat till about 6 oclock, I had two slices of toast with some tuna salad. drank alot of water and coffee. I think this evening I will have another slcie of toast LC that is. or some sort of snack.
Perhaps a LC ice cream bar.

any way no exercise today, was feeling to yucky!

Yay, another person is going to Bally's now! LOL I'm using my 8-week pass too and everytime I hear there is another WISHer going it gives me even more motivation. :)
 

Renee, there's a thread on the main WISH board about the Ocean City half. It's on April 16th, so I'm not sure much of the tourist stuff will be open, if you're thinking of combining it with a vacation. The pace requirement is a lenient 17 minute mile - that gives us 3 hrs. 42 minutes roughly.

If it's too soon (only 12 weeks away!), you may want to look into the Philadelphia Jefferson Distance Run in mid-September. There are quite a few of us who are planning to do that one also.
 
Michelle.. iwent to day for the first workout! I was totally overwhelmed! Big time.
Didnt know how to ue the machines and ther were so many!

But I didnt get intimadated I did it!

I started with 3 arm machine 3 sets of ten each
then 3 leg machines..............3 sets of ten
then 3 ab machines...............3 sets of ten.

I headed up stairs to the cardio and did 4 miles on a life cycle. and finally to the pool...........
WOW swimming hard when use for exercise.
I did 6 laps and I was beat! Then i went into the hottub. and I was done!


I then headed over to the dentist....where I went for 3 fillings. routine? HUH so I thought.

about 4 oclock, the novacaine began to wear off and then

it hit me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the pain was so bad! right up there with labor! seriuosly..........
after some frantic phone calls to my dentist they finally tracked him down and he called. He said I was having some post op hypersomething or other. And that the cavity was deep and I may need a root canel. the root canal part doesnt bother me I have had 3 but this pain is bad! he prescribe some vicodine! Now I really really hate taking these kinds of things but I seriously have no choice.

ANYWHO....
eating was okso far........... didnt eat before the workout not intensionally, I just didnt have time. but after I was feeling jittery so had to stop at mickey dee's to plan DD bday bash, I had something there. I ate 2 double cheese burgers NO BREAD. and get this..lol........... I took more than half the fries out threw them in the garbage BEFORE I sat down so I had about 10 fries. and of course, A diet coke. the earlier this evening once the vicodine kicked in,
I ate some roasted cx and a salad.

Had 1/3 of my LC hershey and am planning on some LC nachos if I dont fall asleep.
I drank about 50 oz of water. and some decaf.................so till tomorrow.

WOW! what a week so far!
You people are gonna start thinking I am a hypercondreact.
(not sure of that spelling lol). So it began the other day when I woke up with a sore throat, and then yesterday with a toothache, today it was my belly! actually, I shoudl say tonight! I toothache worked out well. I woke up and was fine. FINE all day did lots and lots of housework! I did not get to the gym body is sore from yesterdays workout. ABout a hour ago my tummy begins to feel yucky! Makes sense DD had it saturday and DS today he was home from school. Good thing is, it seems to last less than 24 hours! Thank goodness, cause when it comes to my belly I am a big baby! When ever I vomit, I cry and need someone there with me! lol. Even all those morning sickness' of hubby wasnt home my oldest would run to the Br with me. TO rub my back hold my hair! I just can;t handle tummy thingys.

Anyway, today was a great eating day, until now lol. I cant eat which I guess could be a good thing, although, I was looking forward to a snack but I really just don;t want it!

DN had 2 slices of LC bread with tuna on it and a ranch salad.
I usually dont eat 4 slices event hough its LC but, I was lazy and had worked so hard today!

I drank all my water and had some decaf.

Anyway, today I did lots of research on hotel ressies for the marathon. I am expecting a call from WDW with the specifics. I got so excited, because my long time dear friend tara has decided to do the marathon with me next year. She moved down to FL last year so I dont get to see her often. This past january she came with us to WDW during the marathon but did not do it with me. I am so siked about this. We are now planning a fews days there and then the marathon. I told her all about WISH and sent her links to us. I hope she lurks then joins.

anyway, i ought to go lay down, kids are sleeping and hubby is working so if I get sick, I am on my own (we can't have that now). With some luck, it'll pass in my sleep.

Renee, don't feel bad, I felt the same way the first day I went to the gym. Completely overwhelmed! I was seriously considering not going back because I felt so helpless but I just walked around and tried different things and by the end of the day I had more confidence about being there. I don't know if your's is like mine but all the weight machines at mine have instructions for use on them and most have a diagram of what muscles they work, etc. I've found them extremely helpful!

I'm so sorry you are still not feeling well. Sending prayers your way for a quick recovery. :hug:
 
I am not in bed yet! Nope not sick, although, i still feel it, I just managed to eat a lc PIZZA. but I just realized about an hour ago that my carton of cigarettes is just about gone! I promised that this would be it for me! As I write, my last cigarette is burnig in front of me. I had to post so it could be somehow ceromonial. I wrote down a few thins in my own journal that I carry around with me, I hope it will help at times of need. Threw all teh ashtrays away and got some patches for the next few days........ I think I am ready! So off to bed I am... as I now put out my last cigarette. night all

HI all, didnt post last night, had company and it got late I fell asleep!
Anyway, I wound up going off plan.! I wont blame it on the quitting smoking but I think it had a little to do with it!
my friend came by and rather than cook we decided on chinese food, I haven;t had that in so long! So had some rice and cx that was breaded. We then rented some movies so I had some raisinettes as well as some swedish fish. She kept rationalizing ahhhhhhhh! you quit smoking slurge a little! exactl what I didnt want to do. Anyway besides, that meal , while out with my dad all day runnign around, we had BK just a whopper no bread a few onion rings!

So far, today I ate my bk. eggs bacon. and have had a few left over swedish fish, but, just because I meesed up already, I wont continue to do so.

Renee, hope all is going well for you!! I ahve been thinking about you and your new cigarette free life!! It is hard, but you can do it!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I know this, because I quit too...and I was a 3 pack a day girl!! Ihave quit for 7 years and if Ican do it....anybody can do it. I have NO willpower whatsoever!!! So good luck to you!! I know you can do this!!

You are doing so MARVELOUSLY!!!! Can you just give yourself a pat on the back for what all you HAVE accomplished....all of us have bad days....just don't let ONE bad day turn into TWO...or a week...or a month...or a year like I did!! I gained almost 15 pounds last year! UGH! So now I'm off to re-lose those same 15 then lose another 25-30...I'm right here with you!!!

You're such an encouragement to everyone...keep on staying strong and thinking good thoughts...you're a success and time will be on your side!!

Good luck with the smoking--realize this is just a temporary setback, and try to focus on one thing at a time--set your mind to quitting, just like you set your mind to finishing the 1/2 marathon, and you'll do great. You will get your eating under control.
 
Well...... today was a better day for me!
food wise anyway, I have been real cranky, I think TOM may be coming for a visit tomorrow!
Anyway I got up so late that I didnt even eat BK.........
I drank some coffe and really didnt eat anything till dinner.
Then, I had two slices of toast with tuna on them. I am just out of it today! Anyway, I think perhaps this evening Ill have a LC pizza and maybe and LC ice cream.
Not sure whats wrong just feeling real crappy!
I think its just a combo of TOM, not smoking, and cabin fever ( I have been in this house for almost 5 days!)

Renee......feel better!!! I totally understand that funk..you are not alone there with that. It seems to have found me as well. So glad to hear you are still smoke free! What a HUGE accomplishment!!! Just want to echo what others have said about the eating.....ya just gotta deal with one thing then the other.....get rid of your smoking and don't beat yourself up about eating. Of course if you can replace your smoking habbit with a new productive one....all the better for you!!! Keep it up...YOU ROCK!!!

Congratulations on the start of your journey - I think you are doing great - keep on trying!

BTW - my brother was a tet baby too! He was born without a valve and needs a replacement every three to five years. He is a handsom, funny 30 year old 6'3" goalie and brilliant computer programer. One of the nicest guys I know. He had ground breaking surgery at Sick Kids in Toronto that your little Andrew (what a cutie!) probably had.
