Hi. I have a few questions for those who have had any recent experience staying at the Renaissance Orlando near Sea World.

What was your experience like?

Would you stay there again?

Is it walking distance to Aquatica as well? If so, is there a walking path? (I noticed the sign to Aquatica, however, I don't see a path for those walking into the park. Is this too far to walk?

We are not planning to rent a car since we were just going to Aquatica and Sea World during our stay at the Renaissance. Is this a bad idea?

Any suggestions for room requests?

Are there refrigerators in each room?

I would really appreciate any other info and suggestions?

Thanks.:)

I loved it the last time I stayed. I dont believe there are refrigerators or microwaves in any of the rooms, but I'm sure I'm mistaken and you can most likely request it. I would also request a balcony room overlooking sea world for one reason. At night, you can go out and hear all the animals in the distance. It's awesome. The park is that close to the hotel. Literally, right across the street. I believe they also offer shuttles over to Aquatica and DC.

We enjoyed our stays at the Marriott Rennaissance at Sea World. The SW view appears to book early. The deluxe atrium room is a great room. Lots of room and very nice restrooms. Some pictures are linked below. Atrium rooms look out over the large indoor atrium. Restaurants were good, but they are priced like a resort. Walking to SW was easier than any other SW area resort we have stayed.

If you book the Rennaissance I would check they site frequently to check for deals up to the time of your trip. They often reduce rates and offer package deals that can easily beat your initial rate booked.

I do not know about walking to Aquatica but it does not look that far on Bing..sort of like walking from the Dolphin to DHS. I would think they have some way of traversing across International Drive too. I would note the Rennassiance does charge to park a car. A car is not needed to get to SW, but may be useful to get to Aquatica, unless Marriott provides some transportation option.

I agree, Aquatica doesn't look that far and I'm sure it's walkable, but I was just concerned because I don't see a pedestrial walkway into the Aquatica park. It looks like that entrance is for cars only. :confused3

Does anyone know if there is another entrance for pedestrians? ......I would assume that since they have a few nearby resorts, there would be a walkway directly to the front of the gate.

Your welcome. Looking at the maps again I think you would be better off taking a taxi from the Rennassiance since International is a state highway and there most likely will be no walkway. Also, by design the entrance is on the other side. Personally, it would be faster, safer and cheaper than a rental car to spend a little on a taxi.

There is a crosswalk and a walk signal going across I-Drive, however, I am not sure if there is a walkway up to the gate. I will try and check on that next time I am close.

Also, there is a path along the road on the Sea World side of the road leading from the hotel to I-Drive, at least in places. However, they just recently cut down all the trees that were between the drainage ditch and the road, and they are doing other work along there, so for the first part of the walk, it would be best to walk along the edge of the SW parking lot, when you come to the end of that you get to the best portion of the path.

However, they just recently cut down all the trees that were between the drainage ditch and the road,

The trees were cut down to make way for a sidewalk. It is completed in portions but not entirely done yet. It looks like it will go from about in front of the Ren all the way down to the bus stop by employee gate 1, or to the end of all the parking lots heading towards Aquatica. There is still a section of woods between the end of the sidewalk and Aquatica, so I am not sure if they will put the sidewalk through there or not, but there is a little path.
