Has anyone come across a review of Remy that has both sides of the menu featured? We will be going on our cruise and I'd really like to see pictures of each "menu items" to help decide which I'd want. I know the menu probably changes, but just trying to get an idea. All the reviews I've found either don't show both sides of the menus or don't make it clear what is what.

Thanks!

We were at Remy last week, but I am gluten free and both hubby and I are vegetarian, so they made a special menu just for us. It was fabulous! I was really hesitant to spend the money, but my hubby's coworker pretty much insisted that we had to do it. It was worth it!

we were in Remy last week as well. They offer a French inspired menu and an American inspired menu. We each ordered one of the menus and then we shared each item which allowed each of us to taste everything.

I can honestly say that we never sent back a plate that wasnt empty...............everything was great. I am not a huge veggie eater and I had no problem with anything on the menu.

Also, if there is something on the menu you choose that you do not like, you can substitute the corresponding item from the other menu. For example, I am not a fan of lamb, and lamb was the main course on the menu I chose. I substituted the main course from the other menu, keeping other courses the same.

Thanks guys. I'm not at all worried about not liking the food, I'm worried that it will be too hard to pick which menu to go with. I was hoping to see pics of each to help decide. My hubby doesn't like fish so I don't think we'll be able to do the, we each pick one side of the menu & share" successfully.

I haven't written a review or a trip report yet, but I have photos of the menu and of the Lallement (Saveur) side of the menu. They are from the August 22 sailing this year.

My husband is a vegetarian, so he had the vegetarian menu, which includes items from both chefs. I could check to see which ones come from the Hunnel (Gout) side.

I chose the Lallement menu because we had just eaten at Victoria and Albert at the beginning of our trip (yes, this was a really fun trip! :groom:).

This review might help - it's got a ton of pictures and a picture of the full menu. There's no question that it will be difficult to choose which foods to order at Remy - I think everyone has that problem because all of the options are so good and there's definitely a FOMO going on. The waitstaff can be a big help for you too - they're intimately familiar with all the dishes and can help steer you to the ones you want. As one of the previous posters said, you can mix and match at will - they will literally accommodate anything you want. The last time we ate there, my wife really wanted an Italian wine that was only on the Palo menu - no problem, said the sommelier, and he brought a bottle over for us, and then had the label steamed off and delivered to us to take home.

FWIW, the DFB review is from March, but the menu was already completely different by August. The only items I recognized were the egg yolk ravioli, the cheese cart, the chocolates -- and my waiter, ha ha!

Yes, different dishes last week. I didn't photograph anything but hubby and I chose both menus and shared with each other. All plates were cleaned. There wasn't anything we didn't like. He doesn't care for seafood as much as me but ate it all.

I am not a "foodie" and I'm a VERY picky eater. I've eaten at Remy twice and both times were amazing. I can't recall having anything that I didn't enjoy. There is also SO much food, that I certainly didn't walk away hungry! :)

Remy is such a wonderful experience. Go with it, pick what you like and then book another cruise to try anything you missed! In all seriousness, we a big foodies- they are very knowledgable and will explain everything. I got up to use the restroom in between courses, and I had a staff member escort me there! After being slightly mortified, I realized that this was going to be quite the experience.

I did a review of Remy brunch and dinner a few years ago for Foodie Tales. You can find the link to it in my sig below. Since then we have eaten at Remy a couple of more times and really enjoyed it.

Each time we've been the menu has been different. I believe these things change almost weekly as the chef goes with what is best at that time of year.

Also, don't worry about picking between the "French" and "American" menu items. Just go with whatever you like from each. Even better, just tell your server to bring you what they think is the best item from each course.

I picked the French menu and DH picked the American one. I can't eat seafood so I substituted the seafood course with something from the a la carte menu. So you could each pick one menu, substitute the seafood and still share. We didn't do that because I didn't want to share any of that lovely menu. I wanted it all to myself.

I picked one menu and my traveling buddy picked the other. There were dishes that were absolutely delicious on both menus, and others where I preferred one course on one menu over the other. Don't worry about picking the "best" - they both are amazing and have their highlights. If you're traveling with someone else, consider having each pick a different menu and share (we literally passed our plates to each other halfway through each course). The food at Remy is so wonderful, but it's the lovely ambiance that takes it over the top. You're going to have an unforgettable experience no matter which menu you pick. And remember that they will work with you if you don't like seafood, red meat, etc. Just enjoy the experience!

Thanks everyone. We're looking forward to it. We will be going on my 30th birthday so it will be extra special. I've thought about the sharing thing, but as much as I am known among my family as being selfless and a giver, I am just as much known as never willing to share my food. lol If you want a bite of my dole whip, I'll buy you your own dole whip before I share mine. I hate sharing food. lol So we'll see how this goes, as that does sound like the best option.

We shared dishes from the two menus when we went, but I will not do that again. The wine experience was an important part of the experience for us, and, as excellent as the dishes were, it felt oddly misplaced to be sampling the scallops while drinking a glass of cabernet, for example. If you choose the wine pairing option, the best way to enjoy Remy is, at least for me, to stick with the dish that each glass was selected for.

One slight regret that I have from last year is that we passed on the white truffles. The option is quite expensive ($250 pp?) compared to the base price. However, after reading up on white truffles, I am thinking about ordering two truffles selections, one for each menu, for the table (of 6) so that each of us gets to try at least one dish with the option. With the wine pairing, that would bring the total cost to $270 pp or so, but that is still reasonable in my book considering that the meal was one of the absolute highlights of our last vacation. The truffles are completely unnecessary, of course, and the meal would have been wonderful without the wine pairing. I just like to learn what's possible and then figure out what works best for me.
