Remy and WAV?

It looks like from the older threads that Remy used to have a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, but when I check the ride today on the Disney app, it says must transfer from wheelchair. Can anyone confirm that the WAV is still available or not?

TIA

They still have it.
I don’t know why they have the ‘must transfer’ icon. I think it may supposed to be the icon for transfer from ECV to wheelchair to use the WAV.
It’s been on the app at least since when we rode last Fall and maybe actually from the start.
We used the WAV (Wheelchair Access Vehicle) in October 2021 twice and once in February 2022. We just got back from a trip less than a week ago. We had a DAS Return Time to ride it, but it broke down and we were sent out thru the exit before we could ride, so I saw it, but we couldn’t ride.

That is excellent news! Great to have another WAV option. A little disappointed that Runaway Railway didn’t have a WAV, but happy to have Remy!

I did speak with Director of Disabilities Services about Runaway Railroad and was told the ride manufacturer determines whether or a vehicle can have a WAV. The manufacturer didn’t even OK RR to have a transfer access door, so it has a transfer assist device (transfer tier) that can be attached to the ride car, but there is still a very small opening.
We rode RR with our wheelchair using DD and found it not easy to lift her in and out. We expected some spins/etc. maybe similar to the quick turns on Toy Story Mania. We felt all the motion was a lot more than that and could see why no wheelchair car after riding. I think it was @KPeveler who posted the same.

Having now ridden Remy, Rise of the Resistance and RR, DD felt least secure on RR

The WDW website downloadable maps for Guests with Disabilities and the actual paper map I picked up at EPCOT last week show the correct icon (ECV with arrow to wheelchair and person in wheelchair).

That icon sometimes means the line is not ECV accessible, but there is a WAV and sometimes just that the WAV is not ECV accessible.
In this case, the line is ECV accessible, but WAV is only power and manual wheelchair accessible.

Good to know about RR. Surprised to hear that it is more intense than TSMM. Probably makes for a fun ride, but not so much for those with trunk support issues.

If I may ask, did you ride the full ride for RoR? If so, did you lift into the final vehicle? How did that go? We have done the ride up to the final vehicle, but did not transfer.

Thanks!

We did all ride it.
I went alone to Hollywood Studio early one morning to ride and decide if it was safe for our daughter to ride.
I‘ll write more later, but it felt safe and she actually rode twice during our trip.
We were able to bring her wheelchair all the way to boarding and use the TAV (transfer assist vehicle).
