I've been using my scanner for the last couple of hours, scanning photos of competing on my favorite horse, Shadow. He was my best friend during a tough time and I have so many happy memories. He was more of a pet than anything. I still remember the day so clearly, the nervousness and excitement. I remember how worried I was that I would forget something. I remember how shocked I was when I was packing up at the end of the day when a friend came running down to tell me that I had won a ribbon. I hadn't even checked, just assuming that I wouldn't be close and happy for the experience.

But, alas, this all happened in 1980. It's more than likely that my dear friend is gone from this Earth. I never could have afforded to keep him forever, but I spent the years imagining that he was living a happy life with whomever came after me. But too many years have flown by to keep pretending any more.

So I'm sitting here, smiling one moment and sobbing the next.

A beautiful horse Laura. {{{HUGS}}}

Don't be too sad.

That is a wonderful looking horse. Great muscle tone.

Life can be bitterweet can't it. At least you got to have the time with him and got to experience.

{{{hugs}}}

hope your feeling better this morning, Laura

Glad that you have those happy memories in your heart even if you don't have Shadow. He was a beauty!!
Hugs!
