When you come to west coast, leave your weather at home! I've never felt it this muggy before here in Simi Valley. I went for a early morning run and I was drenched by the first mile!
Take care and I hope your training is going well...
Training is sucking here in Michigan! Where's that crying whining smiley? LOL We were suppose to do a LW for 9 miles this morning and stopped at 6. We were up and at the park by 7 am and we were miserible when we finished and let me tell you we weren't even trying for a pace. Yuck Yuck Yuck! I can't wait for the 80's later this week
Hope everyone is having a safe training this week. Take care!!!!
I went out and did 5 miles this afternoon. It was still close to 90 degrees!
But I wanted to start getting used to running in the heat. I figures it's gonna be hot in CA in Sept. so I better be prepared.
I felt better than I expected, but I was still soaked. I mixed in running and walking. No way I could run the whole way in that heat.
Hi Terri,
As a reminder, I believe the race starts @ 6:00 AM. So, don't worry too much about the heat. It shouldn't be too bad... BTW, it's still muggy over here! Enough already!!! hahaha For those hot training days, stay hydrated throughout the day. This will keep you fueled, be able to sustain a longer run, and keep you from bonking! For me, I drink 1/2 liter of water every half hour. For the week leading up to the race, I'll switch that to an endurance drink.
Good luck with the training, everyone! The race is just around the corner...

OK, I've thought a bit about this offer. Since I won't be going, y'all can leave it here! It will be Sept. and I'll be ready to continue with as muchof this weather as I can get b4 winter.

Thanks for understanding, Lily! I forgot about how harsh your winters can be. I think I'll stick to the 11 dry months out of the year here in Southern California!
