Here in San Diego we have recently had one teen after the other die in a car accident due to not wearing their seat belts. My sons High School and our towns police Dept got together to make this video and the school shared it with all it's students in hopes of saving more teen lives. The students and the cars and their familys are all in this video.

I am sending this to you so you can pass it on to your teens and their friends.....and all your family members. It made an impact on my son and even though he said he would never ever get in a car or let anyone in his car without a seat belt( he is 15 and does not drive yet) before he watched this....it is just a visual reminder of why.

So Buckle up! and send out this video....maybe together we can save some more lives:hug:

This video is a joint effort between the La Mesa Police Department and Helix Charter High School. The video is designed to make students wear their seat belts. All images and information were provided by Sergeant Brian Stoney of the La Mesa Police Department. The editing was done at Helix Charter High School by Matt Guarnotta.

Oh wow, that was very powerful, especially using the real pictures of students who have died just in the last few weeks. :sad1:

I'm glad they made of the point of how an unrestrained passenger can injure/kill others in the car. I've personally seen that happen. So very sad. They think it's only their life they risk, but it's everyone in the car, and even in surrounding cars, if they are ejected. :sad2:

I would note if anyone has lost a child in a car accident, I would warn them not to watch this vid! It's quite graphic! :guilty: But it makes a point that teens need to see! (or anyone who doesn't think seat belts are all that important).

yes it was...and that was the point of the video. To make students think twice and visuals can be more powerful than just words. It is being talked about all over the school campus and their are over 2,000 students at the High School. My son said it has been the #1 topic. That is what they wanted to do...get the students talking.

I remember watching the news and saying ...not again :sad1:.....it was like what is going on????? And because it was all local it even hit more home with the students. This video was sent out by e-mail to every students parents addresses also. That is how I got it.
