Remind me not to go to my neighbors.

I totally agree, the second hand smoke is horrible for her son. I get angry when people smoke in their homes with kids present. Total disregard for their own childs health, selfish, selfish, selfish. :sad2:

She sounds like a user and expects people to cater to her wishes so that she doesn't have to give up her fun. Yup, I know someone like that. Frustrating, aren't they?

The whole "i didnt type that the way I thought it"......I do that all the time. :rotfl:

thanks for understanding about the typing thing...sometimes as my tag says I'm a spaz!! :lmao:

And that is why we won't help her any more b/c we see it now but when she first moved in I felt so sorry for her son and I tried so hard to help her..but as time went on I realized what she was doing ..now even or older neighbor is backing off (he helped her way more than we did)

From talking to her and getting to know her I know darn well that she can hold a job if she wanted to but she chooses to be on disability (mental issues) ..but like I said she is NOT mentally handicapped like she wants people to think... she sits at home playing the nintendo ..all the while trying to pawn her son off..during the summer she put him in summer school and admitted that she did so just so he wouldn't be with her all day..this is her words "I put him in summer school even though he doesn't need it to me a break" ...:sad2:

Someone has to take care of the cats. Just a thought.

You could tell her that the cats are cold which I imagine is true. If she cares about them so much she'll either give them up or use her heater. She should NEVER wrap a blanket around the space heater!

I agree..I told her that was not a good idea at all..she didn't say anything...

"Remind me not to go to my neighbors. "

...this is something that I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER forget......[...don't ask...]

WAit a minute now, I think you may be on a slippery slope here. If she's on disability for mental illness you might not necessarily know how it manifests. Just from our experience with SSDI, it's not so easy to get on it. You can't believe the amount of documentation! If her doctor says she has a mental illness(and I don't doubt it, based on your description) then she probably does. Mental illness does not mean mentally handicapped, BTW. What appears to be laziness to you may actually be fear of leaving the house, anxiety disorder, OCD, bipolar or a host of other things.

As far as her putting her son in summer school to get a break, i see nothing wrong with that. SHe's a single parent you say? And has a mental illness? I bet she *does* need a break. I am married with a mentally handicapped son, so I have an extra adult in the household. I put DS in summer camp for nearly the whole summer BECAUSE I NEED THE BREAK!

It's not for us to decide the severity of her mental situation, what exactly she suffers from, or whether she's a good parent unless clearly the child is being neglected. That doesn't sound like the case.

No she has NO fear of leaving the house I assure you..if you talk to her or get to know her (I have known her for 4 years now) you will know she is very capable of having a job ..but at the same time I am not qualified to say that she should ..however my opinion is that she is using the system..i get this by just talking to her and knowing her for the amount of time I have known her..I am not the only one that came to this same conclusion...

anyway ...I am not saying she doesn't need a break sometimes but personally her son already has trouble with being picked on and bullied and to add more school on top of that just rubs me the wrong way especially since he didn't need it...
