We Lost Someone We Never Met 2 Years Ago Last Night. 
 
East of Midnight on 6-30-2000 , Mousefan posted the news 
 
that Tink would no longer be able to post on the DIS. 
 
Tink's posts were kind, caring and funny and we feel 
 
unworthy but honored to return one of her best posts 
 
to the DIS. It is from the Legendary DIS Thread 
 
" Strangest thing you've ever seen in WDW ? " 
 
This should be thought of as a celebration of 
 
Steph, that is the spirit in which it is offered. 
 
We feel this post conveys her essence, sense of humor , 
 
love of Disney and Love of Family. Anyway it is 
 
the way she will always be remembered in our hearts.

This post is hilarious. I've got three weird things that I've thought of
since I began reading this post. 
 
The first, I was getting my picture made with Goofy and Mickey over at
MGM. While my hubby was getting ready to snap the pic, the CM announced I
was the last picture to be taken. All of the 30 people in line behind me
groaned and then proceeded to take my picture. All I could think is
somewhere all over the world, I am in lots of different photo albums 
 
Oct 98 we stayed at the GF, as we were unloading our luggage this brand
new Mercedes pulls up next to us. The CM comes over with the cart and
starts taking Wal-Mart bags out of this guys trunk. I guess that was their
luggage, they had nothing but about 50 WM bags. I guess they spent to much
on their car. 
 
When I was with my family in 97 I wanted to ride the Dumbo ride but I
didn't want to ride by myself so I convinced my dad to ride with me.
Picture a 50 yr old dad and his 25 yr old daughter in a Dumbo car, while
everyone else on the ride was kids. You know how you can make Dumbo rise
up and drop back down, Well for some reason our Dumbo didn't like to ride
too high. We'd push that little lever and you could almost hear Dumbo
groan, but when we wanted to come down we dropped faster than ToT. We must
have been a sight.

I was just talking about her with some friends in March and thought about her recently when remembering Sylvia and now Robin.

I was just thinking about Stephanie recently when Robin passed away. We've lost so many wonderful people here on the DIS, yet part of them still lives on in their caring, funny, and sincere posts.

I still miss Steph. What courage and determination she possessed. I don't believe she ever had a harsh or angry word for anyone. No matter how ill she became you would not have guessed from her posts.

A positive and caring woman. I miss her.

Thanks Dan.....I remember that night so so well, I think it was the hardest post I have ever put on the DIS. board. I knew her time was limited when I was at the hospital that night with her family, Oh how they were praying for a miracle that night., and I was thinking the entire ride home from the hospital how I was going to put the sad news on the board that she had passed...I was also praying for a miracle that she would once again overcome a hurdle in her recovery with the latest set back. But deep down in my heart I knew I was going to have to make that final post before the night was over. I wasn't home much more than 15 minutes when the phone call came from family/friends at the hospital. So many people , her DIS family , had shared their prayers, supported her thru her decision to have the transplant done. Oh what a strong young woman she was. ( I only wish I could have 1/2 the strength she did ) The DIS family supported her family also thru contributions to help defray the cost at the hospital family house. I can remember the managers of the house saying they had never had so many contributions come in for one family's expenses before and were amazed that most didn't even ever meet Steph or her family in person that it was from an "internet family" , DIS'ers also sent phone cards, in get well cards so her family could stay in touch with family and friends in KY. while they were here in Pgh. , Pa. The mail room folks even had to come up to the ICU to see who it was that was getting all the mail . Jimmy , Steph's husband and her parents were so excited to finally meet me since I was the go between the DIS family and her family. I don't know why I decided to go to the hospital that night....I had been sending copies of the posts on the board to the hospital via snail mail which they read to Steph all the time. I had talked to them almost daily on the phone for updates. but felt even though invited to go down that I would wait till after her recovery from surg. was a bit longer so that she could enjoy the visit more , but that day I just had the feeling I had to go to the hospital . I went about 7pm....and was immediately showered with hugs and stories of Stephanie and her love for Disney. Her dad had promised to take her back as soon as she recovered. They insisted I go into the ICU to meet Tink...I don't think she was aware that I was there , but they introduced me to her and talked to her about who I was and all the things we had done for her and the family while she was in the hospital. I only wish I could have had the opportunity to meet her prior to that night.
she will always be remembered in our hearts.

I always remember Steph every time I look at a few special pins in my collection.

The hardest day was when mousefan called me and told me of Steph's passing. The hardest night was attending her funeral.
I am just so happy that we had a nice visit at Rafferty's and exchanged some memorable pins.

Steph had such a positive attitude and a very supportive family.
The BEST!

I received an e-mail from Steph's mom this Christmas and then my computer latched onto a nasty virus and I lost everything.

Some pins I will NEVER trade....too many memories of Steph.

Thanks for the thread, Dan, and thank you to mousefan for sharing your memories and experiences with us again.

I remember that time we shared via the Internet with and about Steph, and how everyone pulled together.

I'm glad that in a small part we were able to encourage her and her family - especially those of you who really went out of your way.

Shortly after I started posting to the DIS Stephanie passed away. I knew by outpouring of emotion by all the people on this board that the DIS was a very special place.
