Thank you to all of you that serve or have served; those who lost loved ones and those who will lose loved ones. It's so easy to forget to say Thank You ... and easy to let the moment pass without remembering.

I find myself looking at images of family members who passed away in wars gone by ... I think the older I get, the more their sacrifice means to me.

As a thank you this year, I plan to post and share with family and friends my favourite remembrance Music Videos from Nova Scotians and one TV commercial that capture how I feel. I figure you feel the same as I do ...

Thank You.

I come from a PROUD Military family..I have 2 brothers that currently serve in the Canadian Forces. We lost someone close in 2006 in Afghanistan.
The war not only took that person away from us but it also took a piece of my one brother that day who was present when 2 of our Canadian Hero's passed infront of him.

on 11.11.11 at 11am...I will be remember those we lost..both in body and mind..i will probably shed a tear as I remember those we lost..and then I will beam with joy as I rejoice how proud and blessed I am to have 2 Canadian Hero's in my Family!

Here are some songs

These are very powerful. Thanks for posting.

Thanks to all of those that are serving, have served, and have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that we enjoy today.

I found this while looking at the other videos. A Highway of Heroes video with Lee Greenwood singing God Bless Canada: http://youtu.be/InztCEsi-7w

I am organizing a Remembrance Day assembly at the school where I teach.
I will also be contributing to Sunnybrook Hospitals "Raise A Flag" campaign. I have talked to my students and sent a letter home asking for donations so we can purchase flags that will be placed in the lawn surrounding the veterans wing at Sunnybrook Hospital. On the morning of November 11, veterans will awake to the sight of many flags sent from people showing their appreciation to our veterans. All money raised will go to the veterans' comfort fund.

Here is a link to a video I will be showing at the assembly. It is called A Soldier's Cry and it is written by Roland Majeau.

We will be attending the Remembrance Day Service here in Oromocto, NB..... home to CFB Gagetown, to once again pay tribute to the military personnel past & present.

The Bell / Dieppe commercial is excellent and certainly brought a tear to my eyes and lump in my throat.

Thanks for posting these Ted.

This is my first year homeschooling my DS8. THis week I have been teaching him about what Remembrance Day is and what it means, as well as sharing stories of grandfathers whom served in WW1 & 2. On Friday we will be going to services at the Warplane heritage museum in Hamilton. I am sure it will a wonderful experience for him.
There has been talk in our area about not allowing vets in the school to talk about thier experiences with kids, because of the violence that war brings etc.... If we don't teach our kids to respect these men and women and thier experiences, how will kids learn. The saying is, without knowing our histories, we are doomed to repeat it (something like that anyway). I am thankful I am homeschooling my DS and can really share Remembrance Day with him.
I hope you can all take the time too remember!

As I do every year I go to the ceremony then visit a few legions afterward.

I will be remembering my Grandfather, a WWII vet. He passed in January this year and he would have been 91 on 11/11/11.

I work in long term care and have the honour of being surrounded by many men and women who have served. I am regularly reminded of the past when they share their stories with me. I am totally amazed by all that they have done and seen in their lives. They have told me stories of being POW's and stories of being the only young man to make it home.

Thank you to all that have and will continue to serve.

I encourage you all to visit some legions (Leave the kids at home they should not be allowed entry as they are considered a bar) and take the time to sit with a veteran.

I can guarantee you that the visit will be appreciated by the vets; as a spouse of someone currently serving the thanks we get on Remembrance Day is genuinely appreciated.

We will be driving to Manchester to catch our flight to Orlando, but with that said, we will stop to observe the moment of silence.

I was an army cadet and Veteran's day is very important to me. Many past cadets who I know are now serving in the military.

This is a video that various country singers got together and it's a song about the CAF.
