I am considering renting our excess points that we will not be using this year. I would like to use this site's sponsor as I feel they are trustworthy. Their rental agreement requires you to sign a release with your member ID and your contract number so that they can contact DVC to release information on your account. I am uncomfortable with this. Thoughts?

I’m not sure of how it works. I would not under any circumstances supply them with that information. The fact that you are a member can easily be verified by using the OCC records search using your name.

Only if the resort you own is in Orange County, FL. If you own VB, HHI, GCV or Aulani, it won't be there.

Which site sponsor are you planning on using?

Thank you for your replies! I called The DVC Store and clarified that I could just print the points summary and black out the membership and contract info. They were extremely nice and very helpful - in a nutshell they ask for that information so that if needed they can contact DVC and to verify points and use year for those clients who want them to handle everything. Apparently there are clients who don't have a clue how their points and use year work.

I don't understand how they can even do that unless they are also a realtor who sells DVC contracts and they are faking selling your contract. They have no right to discuss your contract with DVC. Tell them to stuff it and sell them yourself on the DIS.
