Relaxing things to do at POR?

I just booked at stay over July 4th weekend for Riverside. I'm looking forward to relaxing as much as possible....so, I'd love to hear what wonderful relaxing things I can do there....I'd also love to hear how much I'm going to love this place!

I sort of had in mind trying the fishin' hole one day...what else?

Oh, and I will be joined by my dh and kids (7yob and 2yog).

I think you will love it. Port Orleans Riverside is beautiful. We stayed there on our first trip to WDW and fell in love! I like to stay somewhere different every time, but when it comes time to make ressies, my DH always want to go back to POR. Here are some of the fun things we discovered:

Of course, try the fishing. Your kids will love it.

There is a well shaded playground for the kids.

The Ol' Man Fishing Hole is a great pool. Your kids will love it!

Rent a scurrey and ride around the resort for an afternoon.

Take the boat ride to Downtown. This was our favorite! Especially, late in the evening. It was very relaxing.

Feed the ducks by the water wheel. There were vending machines with duck food nearby.

This is all I can think of, other than to remind you that you can also visit POFQ, because they are easily within walking distance. and remember that each hotel has an arcade.

We love PO-R. There are quiet pools, no slides. The main pool is very cool. My dd loved it. She also loved the playground. We liked to just amble around the resort, taking our time to see all the good stuff. It is landscaped beautifully. The boat to DD is geat too. You can just sit by the main pool and enjoy watching your kids play while you sip a nice frozen drink. Aaahhhhh....that's the life for me.

We'll be there in early August, and my daughter and her family will be there over the 4th of July - right along with you.

A couple more ideas....take a moonlight stroll along the bayou, and stop by the bar area for a Mississippi Mudslide, while you sit in the overstuffed chairs in front of the fireplace.

Its really beauitful in the early morning, the fog is lifting off the river & pool and a early walk is just the thing! Its so quiet & beauitful. I can smell the magnolia's from here! I even looked into magnolia tree's but won't grow this far north.
