Relatively relaxing resturaunts?

I've been in a few resturaunts that are so loud and boisterous that you have to yell to your dining companions to be heard. I really don't like to have to do that. So what resturaunts have you been to that are relatively calm (not necessarily dead quiet, just not overly loud)? And I've even been to some character breakfasts that aren't too loud-GF was OK when we went, also CRT. Like LTT, CRT, Chef's de France, Flame Tree BBQ, Tempanyaki for lunch. Unfortunately Rose and Crown for dinner the night I was there was very busy and loud-how is it for lunch? CP was another loud one. Any other especially loud resturaunts?

For quiet restaurants, we've liked Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morocco Pavillion, Tempura Kiku in the Japan Pavilian, both at Epcot. At the Magic Kingdom, I've thought the Crystal Palace was pretty quiet even with character lunch going on.

We found Boma to be loud, and Restaurant Akershus very quiet. Also, the Garden Grill in Epcot at around 7pm is also quiet. But the loudest one we've been to - Chef Mickey's - UGH!

Try O'Hana. The way it is laid out makes for a quite meal.
Mexico is also subdubed due to the dark lighting, I think people are a bit hushed in the "night " mood it gives.
I dissagree with Crystal Palace, IMHO I guess it depends where your table is but it was VERY loud for our breakfast.
Japan was also noisy due to the cooking area at the table, we could not talk to the others at the end of the table.

You know you should really try O'Hana's. It is an absolute beautiful restaurant and the food was excellent. Also, the prime time cafe at MGM Studios was excellent too. The kids expecially loved it. Hopefully this will help!:sunny:

I disagree that San Angel in the Mexico Pavilion is relaxing, it is very loud and seating is very close together.

I'd say if you are looking for something more quiet, just about any of the sit down restaurants are if you dine at a non-rush time. Try before or after lunch, during a parade, or late night just an hour or two before close. Especially if you go at a time when the parks stay open later like 9 or 10 (which I'm not even sure they do anymore). Most of the restaurants at Epcot clear out before Illuminations starts, except for the ones that have a view.

I found Marrakesh to be very relaxing and quiet - except when the belly dancer is performing and the music is a little loud. But, she only performs for a short time and then it's back to quiet.

I also thought Ohana's was nice and not too crazy -- probably depending on where your table is.

I found 1900 Park Fare to be much more crowded and noisy than I had anticipated, but this could be because of the time we were there (TG dinner).

I love to eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It's very peaceful, with great views for people watching. I've never been there for dinner, but our lunches there have always been very long and relaxed, and it's very enjoyable to hold a coversation there.::yes::

Jiko at AKL and the California Grill.. lovely to look at, delicious food, and nice atmosphere!

If you want to leave the Magic Kingdom for a relaxing lunch, try the Grand Floridian Cafe. I agree with the above poster: it's quiet, unrushed, and the way the sunlight filters through the windows is lovely.

If you're at Epcot and want to leave, try the Yacht Club Galley at the YC.

I have to disagree with the Crystal Palace poster....we went last week for dinner and it was SO noisy....of course it was a character meal and the kids were going nuts...we also went to 1900 Park Fae for dinner and it was the same thing....I don't think we had one quiet meal the entire time we were there.....

The Plaza Restaurant at MK was very quiet and relaxing when we were there. Also, even though it is outdoors, we thought the setting and seating area for the Cantina de San Angel counter service stand in Mexico at Epcot was relaxing. The park was not very crowded when we were there, though, so that probably contributed.

In terms of noisy, Chef Mickey's was definitely the noisiest on our trip! We ate lunch at the Land in Epcot (Sunshine Food Fair) and that was pretty 'bustling' and noisy, as well.

Kona Cafe at the Poly has been quiet and relaxing for us.

We've always had relaxing meals at LeCellier as well.

Plaza Restaurant at MK is nice and quiet, probably since it's so small.

I don't remember any noise problems at Mama Melrose at MGM either.

We were at Spoodles for an early dinner, so there wasn't much of a crowd, that could be why we found it very quiet and relaxing.

I suggest Kona Cafe, esp at a non peak time. I had two dinners there on my last trip and found both dinners to be very relaxing and enjoyable.

I also found the Cape May Cafe for dinner is not very noise- a little bustley as it is a buffet, but pretty laid back and quiet.

Artist Point might also be a good choice.

Noisy restaurants I have been to: Chef Mickey's is #1! Shula's was pretty noisy, but good food, 'Ohana can get noisy during the games, but it's not really obnoxious, & avoid Whispering Canyon Cafe if you don't want noisy!

Sometimes even more "Adult" restaurants are noisy because of the acoustics of the building- we had drinks up at Cal. Grill and it was quite loud in there, I have heard Narcoossee's is loud because of the flooring, Shula's was loud because it was all wood floors and lots of clanking of dishes- people's voices just seemed to carry easily in there.
