I am at the parks this week and have noticed that, for Sunday and Monday at least, Reign of Kong was skipping the exterior portion of the ride. Monday was particularly surprising because there wasn't a drop of rain all day. Anyone have the 411 on this? (On the plus side, the first hour or so on Monday was quite sparsely attended by Kong-ian standards, so I got to ride 3 times in a row.)

The other thing that puzzled me is that the ride audio presentation was exactly the same all the time. I had the impression that the ride had different characters that it cycled through from ride to ride, rather like Star Tours at DHS. Did they get rid of that?

We missed out the outside section a few times on our last trip, TM just said it was a technical issue.

We did have different "drivers" most of the time.

We were there yesterday and u thought I saw a sign that said the whole ride was closed. Hoping it's open today. Btw, does this ride do much spinning or dropping?

We were there last Wednesday (1-25-17) It was down part of the morning and they were experiencing several glitches. We did get the full ride. I would like to have ridden a second time but there was always a 45 minute wait. I got the impression there are 2 sides? I thought I heard them say one side was completely shut down. The "scare actors" were in the queue and that was entertaining while we waited!

We road it several times this summer. My family seemed to agree that there are three different 'drivers' and that is the difference in the audio. And if there are 12 ride vehicles on the track, that means four for each 'driver'. Maybe you got the same one over and over?

Becky, Will, Jinks, Kalana and Charles "Doc"

I think these are the 5 drivers that are on the ride........and yep, they each have their own storyline.

RODe today. No exterior effects. It was a one and done ride for me.

When I was there last week they did not do the exterior and they were down from 5 vehicles To 2 according to the TM. The third time I rode it Kongs face wasn't working at the end and I told the TM.

When I was there earlier in January, they never used the exterior portion the entire week we were there. After a while I asked one of the TMs about it and she said that it depends on how many ride vehicles they have running whether or not the utilize the exterior portion of the ride or not. Seemed strange to me, but that was her response!

I went on Kong again this morning, but they were having technical issues with the truck moving out of sync with the action. Apologetic team members offered everyone an immediate re-ride. And that aside, the exterior portion was still out of use and apparently has been that way the entire week. The old one-two.

IMHO the exterior portion is one of the coolest parts of the ride. Sad week. Hope it's used again soon!

I've never gotten to ride when the exterior portion was going and as a single rider, they keep putting me in the very front seat which has a horrible view of the ride. It's been a very disappointing ride to me.

Next time I'm going to ask to be put in a different section to see if I'll like it better.

what are the exterior scenes? I rode about 8 times the week after Xmas and aside from differnt drivers the ride was the same...did i miss something?

I rode it twice yesterday
All was fine

Line waits were up to 40-50 minute waits in stand by lines

Vehicle did not do the exterior route as lines were long I was told

There is nothing much to see when the vehicle goes to the exterior outside

When it rains, the ride is entirely inside, no exterior route

Rode it today. Inside only, but right after I got off I saw vehicles going through the outside portion with people in them, so not sure what the deal is.

I coudl see that being a valid reason. If there is only 2 or 3 vehicles running instead of 4 or 5 then that gets them through the ride quicker. The outdoor portion is nice but doesn't really add much as there is no real scenes jsut set up in dialogue but takes up 1.5 to 2 minutes of time I'd say. So especailly if down to 2 it gets them back that much quicker to get unlocaded and back to the station.

wow -rode this twice last week and didn't even know I was missing an outdoor part! Is the outdoor part at the very beginning? Because it seemed so odd that the audio told you not to put on your goggles yet and then like 10 seconds later said now put them on! Maybe that's where the outdoor portion normally is? In any case, it was my favorite ride at IOA and I love almost everything there! (and we had no waits for anything either day - it was awesome)

When the cars go outside around the curve , you would be turning to the left soon after the ride begins

Circle back around to the front and enter rhe building

This when you put on the glasses
