REI members only "garage sale"

I'm looking at buying a new heart rate monitor/fitness tracker at REI. I just saw a post on their website for the members-only, in-store "garage sale" on January 2. Is there any way to check what items will be offered on sale a nearby stores?

No, as far as I know you can't find out about specific items. Every year the stuff is different. Most (all??) of it are returned items or items with small defects which may or may not effect performance. I don't think I've ever seen a HRM at the sales near me but we don't go to all of them and we haven't specifically looked for one so there may have been some.

Get there early if you decide to go! Ours runs out of parking spaces and some years they hand out tickets to "get in" while other years they don't. It's freezing outside waiting!
