Just wondering if it is set in stone that you have to have a rehersal?

I Don't quite like the idea of practicing to get married

We all know how a wedding goes - walk down the aisle - i do - walk up the aisle - well pretty much
also I would like everyone else who attends to see the pavilion for the first time on the day of our wedding.
what do you think ?

personally i think thats a bad idea. if you are having a bridal party, especially one with children as flower girl and ring bearer then really its best if they practice. plus there are certain ways that each reverand does things and ours had us hold our hands a certain way to put the rings on eachother and we would have looked really dumb if we didnt practice.

Keep in mind your rehearsal doesnt have to be at the wedding pavilion. Our cermony is there as well but we were at one point looking to have it at the beach club in a room since our rehearsal dinner was going to be there until we changed the location. I've been in a few weddings where they did different thing that were unexpected. Good Luck

I am a wedding planner for a church (not Disney) but having a rehersal is a good idea. It a time work out some details that you may not have thought of-when dothe parents light the unity candle, where does everyone stand during the ceremony, even explaining to your ushers how to seat the guests--surprisingly that is the one thing that worries most groomsmen! It will just put everyone's mind at ease-in my opinon anyway. Best of luck to you! When is the big day?

I didn't have a rehearsal. Most everything went fine. The only small issue was after we lit the unity candle. They told him to go one way around the alter, and me the other. It wasn't that big of a deal.

The coordinators told everyone where they were going stand, walk, etc. just a few moments before the wedding. We did have a small wedding party (MOH, BM, and a ringbearer). If it would have been a large party, I would have most likely had one.

Which reverand did you have? Didn't think it would matter much which way you held your hands????

We are not having a candle lighting or sand ceremony so at least thats one problem out of the way. We are only having 28 guests at the wedding and as we are all very close We don't feel that it matters where people decide to sit as long as everyone is there. Also, the only people we want to have standing during the ceremony is the bestman and the MOH, bridesmades and flowergirls etc can sit in the front rows.

our reverand was tim herring. he had this really interesting way for us to hold our hands while placing the rings, which looks incredibly elegant on our video. also, as someone else already stated you can do your rehearsal in a ballroom if you want. I was offered the a GF ballroom to rehearse in but I chose to rehearse in the WP so everyone would know exactly what they were doing.

Is it that you feel the rehearsal is wasted time, or is it going through the wedding steps before the actual wedding that makes you feel weird?

In my opinion, the rehearsal helps things run more smoothly, most definitely. Even things that you think are simple--like everyone knowing where to stand, knowing in what order members of the family and bridal party enter and leave, knowing when this speaker is going to do his/her reading-- little stuff like that is stuff you don't think about ahead of time, but if during or after the ceremony, people are shuffling around because they're not sure who's supposed to go first or what's supposed to happen next, then it might make things look a bit disorganized. I mean, I see little mishaps like that happen at weddings that actually HAD rehearsals, so I can't imagine how many preventable errors take place at weddings that DON'T have rehearsals

I was in one of my best friend's weddings at Disney; she got married at the Wedding Pavilion, but we rehearsed at a ballroom in the Grand Floridian, so it was still a really nice surprise for everyone involved to be in the Pavilion on the big day.

We aren't having a rehearsal, but we are only a small group of 12. I have discussed this at length with our Reverend. We do have an appointment to talk about the flow of our ceremony so we know what is going on. And I will also have a run through of where everyone has to stand with my group the day before.
