Rehersal Questions

Did everybody who had a Wishes Wedding have a rehersal and rehersal dinner? I'm only having between 30-40 guests, and 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen, and no flowergirl/ringbearer. I'm wondering if the rehersal is necessary. I know that it would make me feel better knowing what to do. Does Disney charge you for this or do you just pay the fee from the officiant? What time do they have the rehersals? Are they during the wedding off times? If you had a rehersal dinner, where did you have it at? I'd like to have mine as inexpensive as possible... I was thinking somewhere like Chef Micky's? Are they able to accomadate large groups? Any other ideas? AND did you invite EVERYONE to the rehersal dinner or just those who are in the wedding party? I feel bad leaving people out because everyone will be traveling to Florida from Pennsylvania for my wedding. What did everyone do??

Our wedding is a Monday. We were planning on having our rehersal Saturday but just found out that one of my BM will not be getting in until Saturday night. As of now we are planning on Sunday morning and then hosting a breakfast at Cape May. The breakfast will be for our bridal party, their guests and our immediate family (about 25 people). We will be having 50 to 60 people at our wedding and 3 attendants on my side and 3 on DF's side plus a ring bearer. I wanted to do a rehersal just so everyone meets before and we spend some time planning the actual ceremony. Our ceremony is in Epcot but we will be rehersing somewhere on the Boardwalk. I don't believe there is a charge from Disney (unless we wanted to reherse in the park) but I believe we do have to pay our officient.

The rehearsal meal is traditionally only for members of the wedding party and immediate family. A welcome dinner/party would be for everyone who traveled to be there.

There is no charge for a rehearsal unless you have it inside the park, and then it's just a $90 escort fee for someone to meet you at the gate (and you don't pay admission, obviously).

We definitely wanted a rehearsal b/c our wedding was in Epcot and we wanted to know how everything would be set up. But we could not afford to host a rehearsal meal. Our rehearsal had to be before World Showcase opened, which meant we were done at 9:30am. We had a small wedding party (1 attendant each) plus DH's immediate family. We told them the two of us were walking to Spoodles for breakfast and they were welcome to join us. Everyone paid their own way, and breakfast was inexpensive enough that we didn't feel we were burdening them with the choice to come.

Hope that helps!

We planned our rehearsal for the Saturday night before our Sunday AM wedding. We can't have the rehearsal until after sundown (religious restrictions), so it will be at 8 PM. I think the rehearsal is necessary--how else do people know where to go and when? The dinner, though, isn't required. I think Carrie just had a meet-n-greet, and I considered doing an ice cream party at Ghiradelli instead. You could also have an outdoor BBQ, which I know some people on here have done. We eventually opted to go with the 1900 Park Fare character buffet because it's right across the street from the Wedding Pavilion and the costs are fixed.

We're also debating how many people to invite. The only people who need to be there are the ones actually in the wedding. Just remember: you're providing a very expensive meal at your wedding. There's no need to feed everyone for their entire Disney stay. Good luck!

our wedding will be about 30 people and majority of it is family. Total 3 attendants and 4 kids (RB and FGs).
We're still doing rehearsal because we want to make sure everybody understands where they need to be.
No charge from Disney's end, but there most probably be a charge by your officiant.
We are also doing a loose rehearsal dinner. No presents no fancy anything, just a get together before the day to make everybody feel comfortable among each other. We're paying for it to thank you everyone. Some of them would have flown 10000 miles away to be there. So a $30 dinner is the least we can do to thank you :)

i had my rehearsal on sat afternoon, then rehearsal dinner after at ohana's its one price all u can eat the food is great!
we only had wedding party their guest, and immediate family.
have a rehearsal it makes it so much easier on the day of your wedding everyone knows whats going on!!!!

We are only having our children in the wedding and are still doing a rehearsal!
Since our wedding is in Epcot our rehearsal is 8:30 the morning before the wedding,, so we are doing a Welcome Dinner for all 30 guests at Ohana the same evening!

I think Carrie just had a meet-n-greet, and I considered doing an ice cream party at Ghiradelli instead.

Yes, I guess I should add that we also had a meet 'n' greet for all the guests, but it was just a casual "come hang out at the Beach Club and chat" thing - no food because we scheduled it between lunch and dinner. We made it really clear that the whole thing was optional cuz I was paranoid about over-scheduling guests who wanted to be in the parks. In the end, we had about half of our guests show up, and they turned out to all be family members.

We are having a rehearsal in the afternoon, the day before the wedding. If the wedding pavilion isn't being used we are going to have it there. If it is being used, I think the planner books a ballroom space 30 days before.

We are expecting 30-40 guests and we were debating about having a welcome dinner with everyone being invited. We wanted everyone to meet each other and were originally looking at somewhere with a fixed price dinner. But there are people in the group that tend to drink ALOT and I don't mind paying for the food but don't want to pay for a huge bar bill on top of it. DF suggested going to Raglan Road and paying for appetizers and having everyone pay for their own drinks. I haven't looked into it yet though so I don't know of how large of a group they can accomodate.

Our wedding is on a Monday and the Saturday before we are telling everyone to come over to the Scat Cat Lounge in the POFQ. As most of our guests are staying there this should be easy for them. We love to listen to Elliott Dyson who performs there Wed to Sat from 9:00 to midnight. This way it is after dinner and for those arriving on Saturday it should be easy for them to stop by. For those there already there they can enjoy the park that day or whatever they want to do and just stop by to say hello to who ever is there. We wanted to make this very casual.
