Hi! We are starting to think about where to have our rehearsal dinner in June and were looking for suggestions!! We would really like to have it at the buffet in Germany in Epcot (a nice touch disney could offer being that we met in German class in high school). but that would require all guests having park tix for that day. we are looking at about 40 total and don't know if this would work? other than that, don't really know! possibly Ohana or Cape May or even Fort Wilderness for less formal?? thanks alot! :flower:

Did you by any chance want to go off property, or did you want to stay on? We originally wanted to stay on, but we couldnt find anything at a decent price for my future in-laws, and we also have approx 40 people. We decided to go off property to Giordano's, which is very close to downtown Disney.

We wanted to save some money on the rehearsal dinner, but stay on property. What we decided was to have the rehearsal at 9 a.m. and have a rehearsal breakfast at Chef Mickey's at about 11:00 a.m. We had about 20 people and it worked out well, and was cheaper than dinner (and there was no huge beverage tab either). It is very informal (it's a character meal, after all) but we had a lot of fun, and we traveled with the whole party to the MK afterwards and spent much of the day with family and friends who traveled to Florida but who we otherwise wouldn't have gotten to see much.

we're having our welcome dinner at the dtd rainforest cafe for its fun atmosphere & tropical food selection (we originally wanted to do the safari & dinner at the ak park but cost was upwards of $6,000 for group of 50) we booked a group reservation at their online site. we also got the safari card that will save us 10% on food & merchandise. for our rehearsal we're having a character breakfast at cap may cafe at the yc (for me, hubby2be, parents & bridal/grooms party) & then activities after the rehearsal at the gf fishing excursion/spa. there's lots of great alternatives to the disney packaged dinners for welcome dinners & rehearsals. you can make a group priority seating at the majority of the resort/park restaurants. 407-939-3463 (wdw-dine)

best of luck!

there's also some good restaurants off property like jamie suggested. try online, there's gain's german restaurant in orlando that has banquet facilities, not to fancy in/out but good food.

we had ours at Ohana's
it was a magical place. we walked from the rehearsal at the WP down the walk to the poly at sunset. then had a wonderful dinner with about 22 people we had the middle tables in the restaurant. we timed it so well that at the end of dinner the fireworks at magicc kingdom were startting. it was really a wonderful meal.

We had ours at Hoop-Dee-Doo Review and had a blast. All of our guests couldn't stop talking about what a great time and meal they had.

We had our rehearsal in the St. James Ballroom at the Boardwalk. It worked out great because it gave my In-laws the greatest flexibility on menu and price.

We had ours at Cape May, seafood buffet and it was GREAT all of our 38 guests loved the food and atmosphere.

we are most likely going to the prime time cafe in mgm.
its a very fun relaxing resturant.

Most of our guests stayed at PO-Riverside, so we did ours at Boatwrights. We were seated in an area with a nice fireplace and it was a reasonably priced menu that didn't require park tickets.
