Rehab Castoffs?

Does anyone know what Disney does with the old furniture when they Rehab a resort? Do they give it to charity? Auction it off? Throw it away?

I'm redecorating my bedroom, and couldn't help but thinking how great it would be to put a piece of Disney in there.

I know a lot of the stuff is sold at their property control to cast members.

I can't speak for the furniture, but I know that wall art (Mickey and friends prints) from Paradise Pier hotel was auctioned on ebay through Disney's auction site.

A few years ago, our favorite Daytona Beach hotel was undergoing some renovations for conversion into condos...don't get me started! We went for a look-see at the newly redone units, and they were furnished suspiciously like the CBR...we asked, and were told yes, they had bought the furniture-armoires, headboards, and tables & chairs from Disney. Thought that was interesting.

That is too cool!!! So the auction is only open to CMs? Is there a place where J.Q. Public can buy this memorabilia?

Several weeks ago I saw a notice, ( and, of course I have NO idea where on line it was), that told about the warehouse sale of used Disney stuff. It was down in Orlando and is/was soon. I really, really wish I had payed more attention. I think it was either just before the last trip I made or just after it. So it was eithe before May 25 or after June 4 of this year! And/or there is also one coming up in Nov? of this year...

If I ever do find out where it was I saw it I will post. They had some great things. Mostly big items were on the site. Like old ride carriages, signs and there were ever some old CM costumes. That is what I wanted to check out so a bunch of us could use them to make quilts for the cancer kids and R.McD's house. And for some of the US military wounded in the war. Espec' the CM print shirts with the cool designs on them! Oh, well. That will teach me to clean out my old internet temp files!

My wife would probably be thrilled if I changed out our dining room chairs for the old Alien Encounter attraction seats that they're auctioning on ebay!!!
