We are looking at possibly staying at the Beach Club. We were going to get the "regular" dining plan with one table service, one counter service and one snack, bu I had read several reviews that stated that there are limited counter services available at BCR and BWI. Has anyone ever stayed at this resort on this dining plan and if so, did you have a problem with the counter service options? I just don't know if it is worth all the extra money for the deluxe dining plan.:confused3

Any comments would be helpful....thanks

There are two counter service options at the beach club. One is outside by the pool, called Hurricane Hannah's. They have chicken salad, veggie flatbread, etc.

The one inside is called the Marketplace. They have a soup and half sandwich combo and a make your own salad. I love the make your own salad.

At the marketplace, you can also get a baked good for a dessert and save it for later. YUMMY COCONUT BARS!

I love Beach Club for counter service.

I haven't been yet ;)- but we are staying at the BC, on the regular dining plan this Oct.

We tend to eat most of our CS meals at the parks anyway - for lunch. Or possible for breakfast this time (to save snack credits for F&W festival :thumbsup2)
Are you thinking you will be back at the resort for many meals during your trip?

We've stayed twice at the BC while on the DDP, the last time being for 9 nights last fall. Like a previous poster, we tend to use most of our CS credits in the parks, but we did eat a few times at the resort.

We ate twice at Hurricane Hannah's, and the food is good. They have the same burgers as are served at the TS credit Beaches & Cream on the other side of the pool. There isn't much choice of dessert, though. The chicken wrap or flatbread is good too. We also grabbed dinner one night at the Marketplace inside. I did the make-your-own salad and it was great! We chose gelato for dessert, but that isn't an option anymore. They do have good pastries, though! We also grabbed sandwiches and pastries to take to the airport for lunch before leaving.

The choices aren't as varied as having a food court, but the choices they do have are pretty good.

We've also stayed at the BWV twice, and I was much more disappointed with the CS options there. The Boardwalk Bakery is pretty good, but it's always mobbed in the mornings and most evenings! It's a tiny place, and I was really feeling claustrophobic by the time I got out of there!

Does anyone have pictures of the Make Your Own Salad? Do you tell them what you want on it or is it a salad bar? Thanks!

I don't have a picture, but they prepare it for you. You pick your greens, such as romaine or spinach, and what you want on it. They have meats like diced chicken & ham, different cheese, craisins, various veggies. They put your greens and chosen toppings in a large stainless steel bowl and toss it with your chosen dressing. Then, it's put in a plastic container for you. I love that it's already tossed, so that I don't make a mess trying to do it in a tiny container. Best I recall, I made a spinach, feta, craisin, candied walnut w/ balsamic vinegarette creation. It was delish!

We didn't have a problem there. That was actually our last reg DDP trip before the DxDDP came out and I rather enjoyed the BC/BW counter service. We had one breakfast at the bakery on the Boardwalk, lunch at Hurricane Hannah's poolside (which was surprisingly good considering that it is basically pool bar food), and sandwiches from the BC quick service (try the gelato!).

I think BC...CS..is better than BW.
Happy planning....both places have good chicken caesar salad.

Thanks for the info!

We were there a few weeks ago and the greens were iceberg or mixed greens. You could get chicken in it if you wanted, I don't believe there was any other protein. You tell them what you want and they put tons of stuff in there - broccoli, carrots, olives, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, etc. It was huge and anytime me or DH got it, we were never able to finish.

Flatbreads were really good and sandwiches were decent.

Not a huge place but enough options for lunch - salad, pizza, sandwiches, soup.

Thanks! It's good to hear they have iceberg lettuce. I prefer this over mixed greens.

Both BC marketplace and HH are better than most think. I love the yogurt parfait, and the pastries are awesome. We had a suprisingly good meal at HH, and great drinks from there poolside. Granted, there is no food court like a value or mod, but you are minutes away from all of the counter services at the world showcase!
