Registered Nurse at Disneyworld??

Hi there, I'm a huge Disney fan and have recently been thinking about working at Disneyworld as an RN. Does anyone work or know any RNs that work at Disney? Thanks, Kim

Hmm, I am not even sure where I could move this post to get you the best answers, but I do know that I have heard something about Disney building/staring their own clinic or hospital or something for castmembers on site.

I don't know what they staff the First Aid stations with. Maybe someone on the disAbilities board would know?

I too would have my dream come true! I would love to work at Disney! I was talking w/my DS16 that he should consider working at WDW while going to college.... now, maybe I should consider it..... I love being a RN and Love WDW! What could be better!!!

At this point I will live vicariously through you and Hopefully my DS... As I really do love my current job and will probably only talk about working at WDW!

That would be the greatest thing, it makes my rn job at the va look pretty bad....well other than the money it is. Good luck to you, if you happen to find out anything interesting do mind posting on here, just for the curious people like me.

When I graduated from nursing school, my husband actually suggested I go to work for Disney! I think he'd move us in a heartbeat if it was even a possibility! Goodness knows I'd love to work there!

I wish! This is what my family keeps telling me I need to do since I love Disney so much. Don't they need an Occupational Health nurse for their employees? Darn it! lol

Well, I went on the disneycareers dot com website and saw that there was a position open for an Occupational Health RN in Anaheim, CA!! Unfortunately, California is a little bit far for me, but it gives me hope that I will see a post for a job in Florida

I'll keep all of you posted if something comes up! In the meantime, it's back to the good ol' Meg-Surg floor

Thanks for posting the disney career website! It's nice to see that they do have RN's working for them and they are part of the first responders team.
DL is much closer to me, but I just got a new job in the ED and won't be looking for another one anytime soon. In a few years though, I might be stalking the disney career website!

Being a RN at WDW would be an amazing job!! I have looked on the website myself, but as you said, there are always jobs in Anaheim, but not in Orlando. Another option is taking a travel RN position in the area. Good luck!! The World (in both senses) need more good nurses!!

My DH and I are both RNs, How cool would that be to work at WDW. I have been to the Jobs at disney site and there is never any RN's needed in WDW. I bet those nurses are like School nurses, they must stay until they retire or ....well you know. I am just glad to know that when I daydream about being a nurse at WDW, I am not alone.

I thought they had RN's at every one of the first aid stations. I might be totally wrong, but someone looked at my son last September when we were in the MK and she gave him some meds to bring his fever down.

I too, am a RN that has looked on the Disney career website for a job opening at WDW. I don't think I could ever convince DH to move to FL, but man, that would be the coolest job in the world!!!

I thought instead of starting a new thread, I'd piggyback this one with a nursing question.

I'm in nursing school now, I'm presently ih AP II, have two academic classes left and hopefully I will be starting clinicals in Jan. '09.

The school I go to makes you wait 1 year after you take the NLN exam to start clinicals. Is there any other way to start clinicals without waiting so long to start clinical rotations.

I'm 38 and terribly impatient and want to get this thing rolling.

Any advice?

Hmmm I'm not sure about that. I graduated from a two year program, so once you finished all your pre-reqs and you were accepted, you started your very first clinical within 8 weeks. Wish I could help you out more I would try posting this on a nursing forum such as allnurses dot com. I'm sure that you would get a better response there! Good luck to you!!!!
