Regis and Kelly: Nothing more than a BIG Disney Commercial

Regis and Kelly are on Channel 7 in NY and NJ (which is ABC). Not sure about the rest of the country.

Regardless of what channel Regis and Kelly are being shown on in each state, they are produced by WABC-TV of New York and they are distributed by Buena Vista Television.

They talk about being owned by Disney/ABC all the time. That Mike Eisner is their "boss". How they have their special Disney connection. How Kelly has "Disney" parties for her kids birthday's because of her special connection.

OK, I feel the need to stick up for Regis and Kelly. I am a 22 year old recently graduated college student. I watch them EVERY morning because they are hilarious and always start my day off right. I was lucky enough to get tickets to their first taping (Wednesday) at the Magic Kingdom. The cards fell my way because me and my boyfriend were put in the front row by one of the production girls. During a commercial, Kelly and Regis walked around and signed autographs, joked around with people, etc. The signed my ticket for me and they were both super sweet. After the show Kelly told me to meet her behind the stage and she took a picture with me. It made my entire trip!

As far as them being able to ride rides alone, NO BIG DEAL! Realistically, do you think Regis is going to sit on Tower of Terror all day "just because he can"? I don't think so. It is a safety thing. Regis and Kelly were each assigned a Tour Guide to take them around and kind of fend off zealous people. I saw Kelly taking her little girl into the back entrance of Buzz Lightyear. Not many people were bothering her, but it is nice that they can have privacy in the rides. I don't think anyone's plans are going to be ruined because Regis rode the Tower of Terror a few times in a row. I don't mean to sound abrasive, but I do not think some of you were being fair. Some people that complained were not even there. I was there when they were and it don't not mess up my trip at all-- it actually made it more fun. It was the icing on the cake of my trip. Both Kelly and Regis were very nice.

Just FTR... I'm not a huge Regis & Kelly fan - they're okay but I don't watch any morning TV generally - but I certainly wasn't inconvenienced by them in the least. We rode Mad Tea Party with Kelly; she certainly didn't have the ride to herself.

I will say, I almost *have* to hate her bc she's so gorgeous! Man, she is TEENY tiny! Really cute, very nice as well. For those who weren't even there in the parks during their visit, not sure what the big deal is. IMO, if you were there & inconvenienced in some manner, you're certainly justified in discussing it. If not, what's the issue?

I agree! Kelly was adoarble--- even cuter than on TV. She is truly pretty.
