Regarding the Footage of the Woman Beating the Child in the Parking Lot of Kohl's...

It's stupid To call a parent lazy because they chose to discipline their kids differently than yours. First of all who are you to say someone is Lazy when you don't know anything about that person or their child and further more what give you the right to pass judgement:rolleyes: If you never had to spank a child than goody for you  Their are children who might not heed the verbal warning and they require a swat. Does that say that the parent is not taking the time to show that child love:rolleyes: No it does not. I would rather be a disciplinarian than a Parent on the Maury show crying because my 13 year old is calling me out of my name and beating the hell out of me. I see parents all the time while shopping who can't control their kids and look so embarassed when people look at them as if they are crazy for putting up with it. These are little kids who would not think twice to slap their mom in the face. My kids would not dare try it with me because of the way My husband and I are raising them. My neighbor who is a cop mind you spanks his kids. He is not lazy. 0ne thing he does say about the police department is They get so sick and tired of parents calling them telling them that they can't control their kids:rolleyes: Please tell me is it love to let your kid walk over you. I don't think so.

I hope this doesn't turn into a spanking/not spanking debate. Raise your kids the way you want. That woman was not spanking that child she was beating her up. There is a HUGE difference between the 2. I saw approx 5 seconds of that vcideo and I am sick over it. I've never felt the urge to throw up after I've seen a Mother swat her childs behind, but that was so sickening. She should be shot, at the very least somebody else needs to be raising those children.

I'm sorry to sound so harsh...but maybe when they find her, they can strap her in a car and let someone 4 times her size beat on her for 20 seconds.

I feel sorry for those who are possessed by a need for vengeance:( :( :( :( :( :( .........

I feel sorry for the precious little girl who was so cruelly beaten. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I do too Saffron, she SHOULD be shot. But I'm fairly certain that old Eros feels sorry for the 'Mother', seeing how she's being victimized, right Eros?  Somebody needs to re-check their priorities.

aahmom, this poor child can be protected without your type of "remedy". You're wrong about my inability to feel sorrow. I feel sorry for you :( :( :(

Perhaps you haven't heard the old saying,

BE KIND, EVERYONE CARRIES A BURDEN .........

AAHMOM, if you'd feel better by sending me a caustic PM, please do so :D . Join the club ;) ;) ;) .

Back to the woman...I read an article that said she was a wanderer, or something like that. Traveling around..looking for work. I want to know how she comes to drive a 2002 model Toyota???? What's up with that???

Breaking news: she just turned herself in.

I wouldnt mind seeing her get shot either.

And I am sure thats there's many more like her who just havent been caught.

Yeah, good question!

With a name like Madalyne Toogood , I am surprised she's not a stripper! Something about the name just screams "POLE DANCER" to me! LOL

I also wondered how 2 wandering woman with kids are able to get jobs to afford a car like that. I wonder what it is that they do for a living? I heard several news reports that said they tried to return items to the store and were not allowed to get money back because the items were not from that store. That makes me wonder if they made a living by shoplifting or something similar.

For the non-debate part:
I would rather be a disciplinarian than a Parent on the Maury show crying because my 13 year old is calling me out of my name and beating the hell out of me.
That's a bad example in favor of spanking. If you watch those shows, almost all of the parents say, "I used to spank him, but I can't discipline him now because he says if you hit me I will tell" and the kids are yelling at and beating up the parents. Usually the problem of the parents on those shows is that they can't see any other way besides spanking and the kids figured out that they are big enough to physically prevent their parents from hitting them. A lot of those parents say "I tried time out. I sent him to his room all the time"... That is not time out; that is being in a room watching TV or video games. Time out is the Dennis the Menace cartoon where he is very bored sitting in a corner thinking about what he did. If done correctly and started at an early age, it's very effective and can be done anywhere (you can even find a boring place in WDW).
Anyone who choses to spank (or threaten to spank) as their major means of controlling their child needs to be prepared for what they will do when the child is big enough to resist or prevent the parent from doing it anymore. It isn't love to let your child walk all over you, but spanking isn't the only way to prevent that.

The travelers are a group of con artists and other scams. The arrest warrents in TX are for theft.

Simplaw mentioned the local case were 6 boys were killed in a car accident. They were in a brand new vehicle and from it was questionable whether any were even old enough to drive. They all carried ID's but they had much older ages on them. The families didn't help, it was quite strange all the way around.

I'm glad she turned herself in, and I'm glad that the little girl has been put into foster care, for now. I don't see how anyone in that family could be trusted to care for her when they wouldn't even help find the mother.

As for spanking, there is spanking and there is beating. That little girl was being beaten. I've spanked my kids, and it has NEVER occured to me to do what that woman was doing to her daughter.

Everyone should raise their own children in the way they feel is best, so long as it doesn't break the law or cross the line into abuse, as this incident obviously did.

I agree. She was beating that child, that was no plain spanking. I'm glad she's been arrested, and that the little girl is safe now.

I personally think that it's a sad world we live in, when people feel sorry for child abusers. Why expand the energy in that direction? Why not direct the sympathy to the child instead. I hope the child gets put into a safe, and loving environment. :D
