Ignore the title, doing too many things at a time.
We stayed at Regal Palms 4 years ago now and had a great time, but that was in the fall when crowds were low. I can see it being not great during peak season. The pool area is awesome with the lazy river and slide, but for the number of units it's just not that big. It must get crazy in the summer. There is a bit if a low-rent feel to the place. Can't say exactly why there weren't any obvious maintenance issues with the facilities but all the same...
One big problem we had, and apparently it's common, is that the dang beds were so friggan hard no one could get a good nights sleep. Caused some problems for us, we were all exhausted by the end of the trip. Apparently they were the beds that were the original equipment with the units, and they had all the give of a cement slab. My son slept on teh carpet, said it was softer. That's part of why is felt low-rent. Stuff looked nice, but if you looked close it was mostly cheap furniture.
