Refurbished iTouch

What are the pros and cons of getting a refurbished iTouch instead of a brand new one?

Apparently if you buy it from the Apple store they have the same warranty as a new one.

The only con I can find (so far) is you can't get the free engraving on a refurbish.

No cons. Truly. It is just the same, except for the no engraving.

We have gotten several refirbed Ipods without problems

We have gotten refurbed ones before and have had no problems with them. However I would wait a week or two before doing it. Apple is announcing any changes to ipods on Sept. 9th and that could cause some of the prices to drop for their current selection.

I am excited to see what is coming out next
My DH said there is a rumor about Ipod touches getting cameras -which would not really excite me much
I do hope they are getting some colors for I-pod touches

Thanks for the advice. If we get an iPod touch it won't be until December. If they come out with new ones I wonder if they'd have any refurbished by then.

It would be cool to have a choice of colors.

I got my kids refurb'ed nano's and they were excellent! My son's even went through the washer (darn cargo pants!), had water visibly in the screen, we let it dry out for a week and it still worked! It is even one of the ones that shows videos and there hasn't been a single problem with it. They are getting Itouch's for Christmas, but it was a work reward (point system) thing and I already got them.
