Have you canceled a resv. and waited 3 months to get the credit/refund?
I made AP PS's yesterday for POR for our arrival day. Got a great rate, so I thought why not stay there at the end of our stay as well and save the weekend points. After talking to my DD I decided we would just keep our original DVC resv. for the remainder of our stay. I called to cancel PS and she said it would take 2-3 billing cycles for the credit to hit my account. That's like 75-105 days, I don't get why it should take that long to get a credit on your credit (in my case debit) card. I don't think I will use a debit card in the future with Disney. There is just something about them keeping my money for that long. :confused3 I envision them financing the new ride at AK with my money :earboy2:

So if there are any WDW managers listening in - give me my money back.

You should have got a reservation in the mail that says CANCELED on it, if not, I would call right away!

It has never actually taken that long, but they always tell me it will.

I think it is crazy that they will wait up to 3 months to credit accounts though. Why the heck do they get to keep money for that long?

I had a reservation at the CSR for my upcomming trip, and changed to the WL. They said they were "sending in a form" to get my money from the CSR reservation transfered to my new one, other ways "It can take up to 3 billing cycles", which is insane because I will be there & back home by then!

I really hope they transfer my money because my CSR hotel was completely paid for. If they transfer it, then I only owe $100 for my WL one.

If they dont transfer & wait 3 months to give me back my money, I will be steeming mad. :headache:

Wow quick response - thanks. Maybe they just say 3 months so peope aren't calling every day after 2 weeks to see why it hasn't posted.

It should only take one to two billing cycles at the most. The reason why they give you that figure is because everyone has different billing cycles. For example your Visa billing cycle might end on the 14th of the month and you cancel your reservation on the 13th but it takes a few days to post. Since your billing cycle has already ended it would show up on your next cycle. I believe there is a federal law that says money must be returned within 2-3 billing cycles as well. I have canceled reservations before using my debit card and it is usually refunded within 3-5 days. Of course every financial institution is different so the amount of time it takes to get back into your account can and most probably will vary.

Hi-
It took just 5 days on our debit card to receive a refund. I hope this helps you. Have fun on your trip!!

I have received my refund in as little as two days.

My refunds have always shown up on my credit card within a week of my cancellation. Of course, I check my account online to review any activity. If I were to just wait for a statement to appear in my snail mail, it could take two billing cycles. A lot depends on the closing date vs. the actual mailing date. My Disney VISA closing date was March 4 and I still have not received the actual paper statement in the mail (but they'll still expect payment by 3/24)!

On my Dec. trip, I had booked at rack rate and paid in full. In order to change to the AP rate when it came out, I had to make a whole new reservation so they refunded my entire other one. It took over a month for the refund to show up. It had been paid with a debit card attached to my checking account so I'm not sure if that made a difference.

I learned the hard way that I will never pay for a Disney trip via debit card again. When I rebooked with AP rates, they deducted the amount from my checking account THREE TIMES. That time, it took over 3 weeks for things to get sorted out and left me without access to $800 of my money . From now on, I pay for anything over $50 at Disney with a regular credit card and then just go pay the card right off. I've never had a triple or even double charge with a regular cc. So I think it is a debit card thing.

Disney processes the credit right away, it's the credit card companies that can take up to 2 to 3 billing cycles. Personally, I haven't seen the 2-3 billing cycle credits for years - but I remember it used to take that long back when they used to hand swipe all the credit cards and then submit them to the Credit card companies.

I've always paid off our reservation by mailing in a check. When I had to cancel, I received my refund in less than a week.

For our upcoming trip I was planning on paying the balance by phone with our debit card. After reading this thread, I think I'll stick with mailing in the check!
