Refrigerators?

I read on another site that refrigerators will be available free in all Mods and Deluxe resorts (as of August 2004). Is this in effect now?

It's not in effect at all moderates yet. I am staying at POFQ starting thursday and called to inquire. Even though they are not installed yet, they said they would provide one free of charge. I would call the resort directly about 4 days prior to see and ask about them. It's just such a time consuming process that they are making exceptions and are very accommodating.

I just got back from POR on Sunday. The refriigerators were not in the room, but we requested one and got it for no charge. It was great.

I hope it's free, but when I called to see if WL had them in the rooms the CM told me no and that it would be $10 a day. I'm hoping she was just misinformed. I would love to have one, but don't want to pay for it.

What are the refridgerators like? Do they have a small 'freezer' space? Are they quiet or do they make a humming noise?

HI, We were at the WL two weeks ago. The refridgerator was not in the room (we didn't ask for one before hand) when we got there. My DH called and asked for one they brought it right up at no charge, it was great.

MickaMazie I must have got the same CM. I went on and requested one for both WL and Poly, if they charge me so be it, if not that's a nice perk

We just returned 9/18 from the Wl and we were told from mousekeeping there would be a charge so we opted not to get the refirgarator we would just go grab alot of ice. Well the delivered the fridge any way and we were not charged. I never even question them when they droped it off but I figured if it showed up on my bill I would say something but it never did. I just spoke with a CM making reservations, and he said that there has been such a demand for refrigerators that they are installing them in all the rooms at the moderates and deluxes. Can you imagine how many that will be?

They have a very tiny freezer space that doesn't even have a door to it. It is just a little frozen shelf. I attempted to put a pint of ice cream in it once and it melted since there is no door to keep things frozen. We have put one water bottle laying on its side in it though. The doors of the fridge have a shelf to hold sodas. We usually put 4-5 cans of soda or bottles of water in that. There is a small shelf in the fridge itself that you can put stuff under and on or remove it to put something larger in. They are not big by any means but we only put drinks in them so it works great for us. I don't know how large the bottles can be because we always get a few pints of milk and OJ at the food court and store it in the fridge.

When we were there in August, we turned the refrigerator as high as it would go and put bottles of water in it. In the morning the water was frozen and we were able to carry them around for cold water all morning. It was great!

Will the refrigerator hold the tall skinny milk carton (is that a quart?) or do we need to bring in several smaller containers?

I've called at least 3 different times to CRO and have been told that at this time they are still charging for them. Good tip Red Wings Fan to call the resort directly. Guess who will be getting a call this AM? Could it be the WL? I think so! He He He.

Called the Caribbean Beach 09/15 and was told Project Refrigerator was ongoing and to call closer to our arrival. She also told me that if our room lacked a fridge we could request one and recieve it at no X-tra charge.

These fridges in the mod resorts..what size milk will fit in them...we will be there for 9 days..I was going to by a half gallon of milk for my DS..will this fit??

The refrigerators are small little cube refrigerators. I don't think they would hold a gallon of milk. I know they were tall enough for a 20 oz coke bottle and a styrofoam square take out container.

We got both a refrigerator at the BC then one at the Poly on our last trip. Both were free of charge. The BC one was never used however because it smelled like vomit.

We were at POR Sept 18-24. The fridge we got was large enough for a gallon of milk and a few more items. The tiny freezer also had a door on it. They weren't in the room yet but we called housekeeping and got one for free.
