We refinanced our home last year and my DH usually does our taxes. If it is going to be too time consuming/difficult to do them this year we would rather pay someone. How much harder will it be?

It shouldn't be much harder. You still only need the amount of interest paid in order to calculate.

It really shouldn't be much harder.

I refinanced this year too (twice, actually).

If you've been amortizing points on the original loan, you can deduct the remainder for this year. Any points on the new loan will need to be amortized.

I've used Turbotax Deluxe for a number of years and am pleased with it. It's nice that it asks you interview-style questions to figure out your taxes. (I also double-check it myself because that's the way I am).

Good luck.

I use turbo tax and it should walk you right through it. just make sure you have all your financial paperwork on hand when you sit down to do it, nothing is worse than having start and stop because you have to hunt down X statement or Y receipt.
