Refillable Soda Cup???

Our friends went to DL last year and stayed at the PP (bought a package through AAA). They've talked a lot about refillable soda cups that they used (refillable for free at certain locations in both DCA & DL). We are DL veterans, and yet this is the first and only time I've heard of these cups. Anyone else know anything about them? Was it a limited time item? If not, are they still available anywhere to purchase?

The only refillable mug that I know of is available at the "Whitewater Cafe" next to the pool at the Grand Californian. We have one and I think it was about $8. We usually only have it filled there because it is conventient to get to from California Adventure; however, I believe they told us it was good at other locations at DH and PP (but I don't know where - sorry )

The refillable mug from Whitewater Snacks is only good for refills at White Water snacks.

Don't you need to have GCH room key to go through their entrance to DCA? We're staying at PP during our stay.

When we bought our cups at Whitewater snacks in June, we were told they were good at all of the restaurants in the Grand.... we also heard they would be good in the DLR hotels. We only used them at WW though so I am not sure.

The Grand entrance is apparently only for guests for the first opening in the morning. We went in and out of there a number of times without being asked for our keys.

There is another refillable cup. You can get it at (I believe) the French Market at DL.

As for the GCH entrance--if you are not a hotel guest (that is now, I believe, at any of the DL hotels), you must first use the main DCA entrance, but after that, you can use that entrance into DCA. I have used it several times after eating a meal at Whitewater.

Can someone please confirm one way or the other for me, I thought those giant souvenier cups that are sold all over the parks were refillable (possibly for a minimal fee)?

Since Disney doesn't buy their soda... only their cups... a major market should be 15 dollar refillable cups (Like Universal Studios...)

But they don't... however, several resturants give free refills so I always hang on to my cup.

The Pizza Port comes to Mind... as well as Zulo de... uh, Frontier Land Mexican food.

Just toss your cup into your back pack or something and refill when you need a drink later

Rancho Del Zocayo. We regularly eat at both these places so that we can get refills.

A friend of ours went last year and part of her package was refillable cups that she could get soda refills from a handfull of locations in each park. She booked through AAA, and stayed at PP (same as we are doing). No one seems to know if this is still available though.

There is another refillable cup. You can get it at (I believe) the French Market at DL.

There is a place on Main St that will give you refills on coffee if you keep your receipt (not cup). The only refillable cup that I have ever seen [that I know of] is at WW snacks. You may be able to get a to-go soda from Storytellers (located in the GCH).

This really depends on the CM at the gate... They are not consistant in this policy. We've gone in with first entry on our APs through this gate with no problems and sometimes they ask us to go to the front gate.

I have used the GCH entrance quite a few times and only once did a CM tell me to use the front gate, It was during morning opening of DCA. I went back later that day and the same CM let me walk through.
