My dh co-worker just returned from WDW and he was telling my dh that the refillable mugs now have a scanner code to stop the cutomers who are trying to use their old mug. You apparently have to scan your cup to get a refill. Does it seem to be working or is it making for long lines?

Must be brand new because they weren't doing that in Dec. It's always been that way at Blizzard Beach though.

I got my dh to ask him to clarify and he indicated it was just at the waterpark as usual....sheesh!

Thank god. We were at POP in '05 and are going back in March and were planning on taking our mugs with us. Had us worried for a sec.

Last trip I used my WL mug from 2000 (runs for cover from the mug police)

I took my POP mug last year, too. Mostly, I drank hot tea-so used the hot water and my own green tea teabags. We bought three new ones for the souvenir value for the kids. We did also take our Blizzard Beach mug to Typhoon Lagoon and bought the refillable sticker. I think that it was something like $5.00 for the day.

I wonder if they will come out with a barcode sticker for sale then like they do at the waterparks? We have always bought a new one because we have stayed at at different resort.TTFN Kat

OMG;) if someone from the cup police on the DIS board sees this they are going send in the RCBI (refillable cup bureau of investigation)!:lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
