Refillable mugs in water parks

I have asked this question on trip advisor with not a lot of luck. I have some Blizzard beach refillable mugs from a couple of years ago and was told that we could use them on return by some other guests that had used theirs for a couple of years. By all accounts we just need to buy the sticker with the bar code to activate the machine. Does anyone know if this still applies with the new style mugs?? It will be a substantial saving if we can just reactivate our mugs thanks

I do not think you can just by a bar code. I believe that it is actually imprinted on the mug. I could be wrong. I do remember that people were scanning the mugs at the machine and I did not see anyone putting stickers on old mugs.
