Refillable Mugs at POFQ

I was very disappointed in the NEW mugs. The "big" one is not really big as it has been insulated so it only holds the same amount as the small one. You have to make several trips to the food court if you are really thirsty.

Is it a new design on the mugs ? or do they have the character dancing round with musical instruments as before ?

It is a new mug becasue I saw people using the old ones in the food court.

According to www.allearsnet.com, the POR mug can be used at Colonel's Cotton Mill - Sassagoula Fd Ct - POFQ and the POFQ mug can be used at Sassagoula Fd Ct/Colonel's Cotton Mill-DxL (POR).

If it's larger, maybe the mug from POR would be an option.(?)

We are splitting our stay between the Coronado and the AKL. If we buy mugs at the Coronado will they let us use them at the AKL or will they expect us to buy new ones? (Let me say, I think I know the answer to this [unfortunately] but thought I would ask.) Thanks

Disney policy is that the mug is only good for the resort where purchased, and during that stay. I think there is an exception for POR and POFQ because they are considered "sister resorts."

We usually split our stay and buy two mugs at the first resort, and then two at the last resort.

When you're back home using the mugs, you'll enjoy memories from your trip.

I would ask when you get there and I'm guessing that if you save your receipt they'll let you still use it at AKL. The reason I think this is that my mom liked the GF mug design when we stayed there but she didn't buy a mug then since we only went to the snack bar/food court once. When we stayed at AKL 10 months later, she wanted to buy a mug but liked the GF design better so she asked the manager of The Mara if she could get a mug at the GF and use it for her stay at AKL and he said it was fine but to save the receipt to show she bought it during this trip in case she were questioned. She never was but had the receipt on her anyway.

The current Port Orleans mugs (both Riverside and French Quarter) are the design that went into effect roughly early 2003. They are the purple, pink and yellow ones with silhouettes of Mickey fishing and Goofy playing the trumpet. They replaced the green on white background mugs (with the same design) that debuted when the resort consolidated.

I'm not sure about the "big" and "small" mug discussion. The two mug types hold the same amount of beverage and cost the same. They are just different shapes - the original and the taller/slimmer version. They both hold 12 oz. of beverage.

Can anyone tell me what beverages are included for the refillable mugs. My kids do not drink pop, so do they offer other beverages (i.e. lemonade, fruit punch or juice). Just trying to decide if it's worth it for them or if I need to make a stop at the grocery store. Thanks!

Usually, you can get coffee, tea and soft drinks with the refillable mug. But some resorts offer additional beverages. Soft drinks usually include Minute Maid lemonade.

i would think that they would b more than happy to offer juice. isnt it less money for juice than soda syrup? i dunt no too much about that stuff but i would think it would.

It is the same mugs they had at POR last May. Just saw pics on Allears.
