Referring someone to DVC question

Does anyone know how DVC rewards you by referring someone to the program? I thought I saw somewhere that if you refer someone you get a $200 credit or something. Then $350? for the 2nd. $500 for the third?

Does anyone know how this works? I have no idea, but I thought someone here had posted info about it. Thanks in advance.

Oh and what is the policy (ie: do you stop at 3 referals? And is all someone has to do is call and request info or do they have to actually go through the open house). Thanks

I think it also depends on where you live, we were told that our state did not allow anything for a referral. Boo hiss

The prospective member MUST mention your name in their very first contact with DVC. Several weeks after the closing, you should receive verification of the reward, and a request that you indicate the manner in which you wish to receive the reward.

The levels are based upon the number of referrals that take place in a calendar year.

I also remember reading something about a limit of 20 people that you can refer (regardless of whether they buy or not) in a single year.

Not saying anyone would ever do this but...

If I found out someone convinced me to buy DVC direct without mentioning the resale market I'd be pretty upset. If I later learned they did it for a couple hundred dollar kickback that person wouldn't be my friend anymore.

They have to actually purchase a membership. If they don't purchase then no referal incentive is paid at all.

Thanks for the info TJKRAZ. Now I know why all I got was a thank-you card when friends of ours bought SSR last year! Just another perk for living in CT! No kickbacks for the citizens. The former governor and his friends had a monopoly on those!
