referral gift card

I recieved the $200 for referring a friend for DVC. I was thinking of taking it in the form of a gift card. Does anyone know if the gift card can then be used to pay for the dining plan, or is it only good for merchandise.

we used our card for the dining plan payment when we went in oct.
its just like a cash card.

You can pay for DDP with a gift card. If you have not yet added the DDP to your reservation, fully payment is due when you add it now.

I received mine in 'Disney dollars' with Cinderella character. I gave them out as collectible gifts. Pretty cool.

I received an e-mail letter this week saying we had a referral and had earned the $200. When I go online on my account, I can't find it to redeem it. Where do I find the voucher?? Does it take a while to show up on your account??
