Redeeming SoCal Res Tickets from Costco...

I am going with a party of 4 adults and 3 kids to DLR in 13 days We are planning to buy the SoCal Resident 4-day Hoppers on costco.com ($199 and it includes a $50 Disney GC per hopper!). I am the only one with a SoCal license. Can I redeem all of the tickets at the gate for everyone if I show my license or will each person need to show proof of residency? Anyone? THANKS!

ID is required for every adult. Since only you have SoCal ID, only you can redeem the pass among the adults in your group. The others will be unable to redeem and will have the value of the Costco ticket applied to purchasing a ticket they qualify for.

Your ID, however, will allow you to redeem for the three children.

Only the person who PURCHASES the ticket from Costco will have to show ID, at COSTCO, not at DLR. I have done this numerous times when my MIL comes to visit from North Carolina. I buy the ticket, and she uses it. We've been doing some variation of this for years now. We have never once been asked at the gate for ID of any kind. When we buy the ticket, she signs it, and that's the end of it. I have been told by many DLR CM's (because I asked before doing this) that as long as ONE person in the party is a So. Cal resident, it's fine for the entire party to use those tickets. If anyone asks, YOU bought the tickets in your name. I have used So. Cal tickets purchased at Costco, Albertson's, and Von's over the years. To be frank, I've actually never been asked for ID at purchase time either. The stores don't really care, I don't think. They just want to make the sale.

Wrong. They can only be used by Southern California residents as is clearly printed on the rules of the ticket.

The fact that you decide to cheat the system and take advantage of the laziness of employees doesn't make it right, nor does having an employee validate your willful ignorance of the rule. But thankfully most people are more honest than you and don't attempt to skirt around the rules, which in the end just makes ticket prices more expensive for everybody all around.

This has become a problem, which is why new finger scanning machines and stricter ID checking goes into effect this spring.

Can the hoppers be used to upgrade to an annual pass?

We have 3 GAD ticket we are going to use towards annual passes.
so
If we buy 3 hopper tickets could we use those towardn the AP and use the 3X$50 =$150giftcards, Would this work??
