With the demise of the Target GC -> Disney GC exchange, I'm searching for a new way to redeem my rewards points into a way to pay for Disney. So here are my options:
  1. Redeem for Amazon GCs and just repay myself in cash for what I would have spent on Amazon (minus the 5% back that I would have gotten using my Amazon Visa). I can get an Amazon GC on SB for 12% less with the first redemption of the month and for 3% less at all times on another rewards program. I do shop at Amazon pretty regularly, so the money will get spent;
  2. Redeem for cash via PayPal which works fine on SB where the redemption cost is the same as a GC after the first redemption of the month. But on one of my other programs the number of points required is almost 1.4 times the number required for an Amazon GC.
  3. Redeem for Walmart GCs and then use them to buy Disney GCs. This would be great if there was a Sam's Club nearby but there isn't. There is a Walmart but I haven't bought a Disney GC with a Walmart GC in quite a while. Would this still work? The cost to redeem for a Walmart GC is 3% more than the Amazon GC on one rewards program and the same on SB. The Walmart is much more convenient to me than Target (less than a 5 minute drive) but again, I rarely shop there, so if the Walmart GC -> Disney GC doesn't work, I'm stuck with GCs that I won't use up very quickly.
Any other suggestions? I'm really mourning the change at Target. I was redeeming for a $25 Target GC once a week on my one program and once a month on SB. Since I rarely shop at Target, I really don't need that much Target money. What are the rest of you doing?

Do you get more than one SB gift card per month? I typically get 2, so I will get a Walmart GC for the first one (discounted) and get PayPal for the second one. I've never tried getting a Disney GC with a Walmart GC. I figure if it doesn't work, I can easily get groceries with the $25. I'll be trying this week so I'll let you know.

Someone on the Swagbucks page suggested getting the VISA reward on SB and using that at the Disney store for gift cards.

I always do WalMart > Sam's Club method. I'm guessing if you have no Sam's nearby you might not want to become a member; although Groupon has some great deals each year that make it affordable. We shop in the store weekly.

I switched from redeeming for Target to redeeming for Walmart months ago. I use the WM GC to buy Disney through Sam's club. The membership was practically free, and while I occasionally go in the store, I only order GC's online.

Same as @wendow, I use Wal-Mart to buy Disney GC at Sam's Club. But if I had to use the Wal-Mart GC at Wal-Mart, I would be fine buying household essentials like soap and toilet paper. For me, the risk with the Target GC was that Target's prices are higher than Wal-Mart's, and while Wal-Mart's prices are probably not quite as good as Costco's, I think it's close enough that I wouldn't feel like I was getting a really bad deal.

Same! I find Target's prices to be so high that I just cannot buy much from them unless there is some really good promo.

I just did the visa at 12% savings and will use that visa to pay a bill online that my credit card would only give me 1% back do I’m not losing out as much by not using my cc. I miss having PayPal but luckily can use the Visa cards.
