YAAAAAAY!!!!

SO happy to be going to disneyland again! Haven't been since the last night of the 60th anniversary. We are not shy about peak visit times, so we will be there the week after xmas.

I found a smoking hot deal on the Red Lion -- as in so smoking hot I'm not sure it is legit. Has anyone stayed there lately? The pictures look pretty nice, but at $98 per night, I'm worried it will be a huge dump. Thoughts?

I haven't stayed there so I can't help you with your question (TripAdvisor has mixed reviews). Hopefully someone else has been.

But the main reason I replied -

YAY FOR DISNEYLAND! The holidays are my favorite.

LOL YAAAAAY!!! Me too :) Can't wait to see it all decked out again :)

Plus, cooler weather (most of the time....let's just keep our fingers crossed), so you can't go wrong there.

I’ve stayed at the Red Lion on Harbor for the past three springs. My ODD’s school band stays there for Magical Music Days because it’s an affordable hotel with rooms that open to interior corridors that’s in walking distance. I actually have found it to be pretty modern and well kept. My preference is still to stay at either the Disneyland Hotel if staying on-property (because it’s magical) or Park View Inn if staying off-property (because it’s so close), but I’d have no hesitation staying at Red Lion again if my other magical/closer choices weren’t available. The walk isn’t too bad. Very safe, just a bit long at the end of a long day of walking. If you are too tired to walk, you can save a few steps by hoping on a Toy Story lot bus and then walking from the Toy Story lot to the hotel.

Stayed at Red Lion once. Front desk staff were so awful and miserable we will NEVER stay there again.

We stayed there awhile back and thought it was very clean and nice. But, the walk seemed forever long after a day at the parks.

We've stayed at least once with no issues - some I know have mentioned walls can be thin but we keep the tv on 24/7 as background noise in the room so never noticed.
No issues and good rate , we just took Uber to/from Disney each day and my hubby used a scooter. Very easy and would easily book again.

Be aware of their parking and resort fees however which add up!

We stayed there a little over a year ago and this was not a Disneyland trip to no idea about the walking distance. We picked this hotel as it allowed dogs and were were traveling with our two pups. We had to take care of some business in Orange so we had a car and on one of the nights drove over to the resort for dinner at DTD. That was a good little trip by car so I can imagine the walk being somewhat long after a long day at the park or if you forget something back at the hotel(why we stay at GCH !) overall I think it was eh..we were in the separate section off of the main hotel due to having dogs so I am not sure if the main section rooms were any different. Very THIN walls and the rooms were very dark in our opinion. It served its purpose for the two nights we were there but it is not high on my list of places to stay. Also..it had a very old smell to it which I am not a fan of (who is). I think the staff was 50/50.. at check in..the guy was so nice! Very helpful and informative..great start! But during the stay some of the ladies managing the front desk were anything but helpful. They seemed to be quite bothered by anyone asking them questions. They have an onsite restaurant..don't go there! We found the food sooooo disgusting. We are not fans of IHOP at home, but it's next door and it's food is a million times better than the hotel restaurant. I dont think it is a dump but I would definitely only consider staying there if there was one heck of a deal bc i could find better hotels for comparable prices. Looks like you found a great deal.. so if you don't mind the walk and only need a place to sleep..why not.
