Recommendations needed for larger family trip

Hi all! Sorry if I missed an applicable thread, but we have a large family (12!!!) trip planned for January 2023, and I am looking for Disney Resort recommendations. We are looking at AoA because of the suites, but we are definitely open to suggestions. We are wanting to stay on property but try to remain budget-conscious. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend AoA over ASMU, however, you could price out the family suites at ASMu as well to see if they price lower than the AoA suites. You could also do 3 rooms at any value resort.

I think some of it depends on the size of the individual family groups and whether or not the groups with children need separate sleeping spaces for them. If separate sleeping areas aren't an issue the most affordable option would most likely be having each family get their own room at a Value or Moderate resort (assuming none of the family groups go over the room capacity).

So if this were my family (11 of us with 4 kids), my sisters would both likely want separate sleeping spaces for their kids so AoA would work for us. My sisters would each get a suite and my parents & I (I am fine sharing a hotel room with them) would either get a LM room or go across the lake and get a room at AoA (the latter is probably more likely since the beds are bigger).

Another option that could work would be renting points for 2-bedroom villas and split out the family groups based on what would work best for your group. My mom has pipe dreams of all of us getting a Grand Villa, but 1) they're super $$$ and 2) the sleeping arrangements could likely make things complicated.
