So far, I have been reading reviews and comparisons for compact pitchers in the 7-11 cups range. Doesn't have to fit in the studio mini fridges but big plus if it does.

Anyone have reccs for a pitcher they particularly love and keep in their owner's locker, and which has hopefully stood the test of time? Anti-recommendations also welcome :thumbsup2

I had a Brita in there, but I got rid of it. It took up too much space, and I think the water is fine. I just use the coffee pot as a pitcher because I don't drink coffee.

I have a smaller Brita filter that I use and it fits in the beverage coolers. I clean it and pack stuff inside it for storing in my OL at the end of our trips. I hate the taste of FL water; so a water filter is a necessity for me.

grayl pressure water filter is nice and compact (more like a big water bottle) and makes bad tastes go away.

I just got a new 10 cup Brita at my home in CT and it does take up space but there is a smaller size 9x4x9 that is 5 cup on Amazon for $25. Even though I have a whole house sediment filter as well as a hospital rated whole house UV filter (I'm on a well) I use it as a final filter just for peace of mind.

And having just bought a 2nd home in Orlando, I noticed the sulfur smell immediately down there. Not drinking that water without a filter.

We use a Brita and keep 3 or 4 filters in our locker. We simply throw away the wet filter when we pack up the locker on departure. Florida water tastes horrible due to the high sulfur content, as does anything you make with it.

Pro Tip: they sell the filter cartridges at the mini Target at Flamingo Crossing.

We have a "slim" Brita pitcher in our OL--I don't know its capacity, but it's probably about 1/2 the one we have at home give or take. I Don't Do Studios, so I can't tell you if it fits in that fridge or not. But, it's The Reason why we keep the OL.

As others do, we just toss the filter at the end of the trip. I throw a new filter in my bag while I'm packing, but there are a few extra in the OL in case I forget once in a while.

That's what I have and use also.

I had the old Slim version in my OL for years but saw the smaller one at a local store and picked one up and it takes up much less room in the locker. It's the one that comes in colors and is about 6 cups.
We each bring a brita bottle from home so I don't need a huge pitcher in the fridge.

One other idea: We bought these for a trip to Mexico. We still ended up not drinking tap (the water was very very soft and almost tasted salty) but this would be great for Florida trips. I also use mine for hiking in the mountains--you can't safely drink the water from a mountain stream directly, but it tastes great after you pass it through these.
