Hi all,
We're looking to go to DLP at the very beginning of December.

Can you recommend which hotel with a lake view (Newport bay or New york) would be the best or most suitable for ourselves and especially our 4 year old boy?

Thanks a million,
mrsm

HNY is closer to the Village but only by 5 mins so not really a lot of difference. We've never stayed there but stayed in NPB 2 years ago. Some people like it some don't and unfortunately we didn't like it as much as Sequoia Lodge. But each to their own...

HNY is 4* so a bit more expensive. We looked inside the hotel, looks nice but IMO it was a little grown up for our 6 and 2 year old girls.

NPB has a nice play area, there's always someone doing things with the kids so maybe go with this hotel.

Sorry not much help, I'm sure others will be able to help more.

I asked the other day about HNY and was it 'couply' more than 'kiddy' - have a look at the thread - basically I was told yes, it is more couply but obviously does provide for kids too. Apparently in the brochure it states that this hotel is 'suited to couples and friends'....

Can't say about the NPB sorry.

I've heard Sequoia Lodge is beautiful at Christmas time... and if we book up early December (as we are thinking of doing) then we will stay there then.

I havent stayed at HNY before but we just stayed at NPB and it was amazing!! And there is a nice play area for children which had colouring in and balloons and stuff everyday plus lots of character meets.
We had a front view balcony which was gorgeous but the lake view was lovely too. I just uploaded all my hotel photos so i'll post the link on here too if you wanna take a look- it includes the lake during the day and night. Its not far from the park either and is a lovely walk.

We stayed at the NY in feb with our DD7 and DS3 and found it VERY family friendly. The staff were brilliant with the children and the characters were in plentiful supply.

We were fortunate enough to be given a free upgrade on arrival to a lake view room and the view was gorgeous and looked directly down the centre of the lake and ice rink.

We would certainly stay there again but decided that as we used the room simply for sleeping and never found the time to use all the fantastic facilities, we would have slightly more spending money if we booked a different accomodation for our next trip.
