Recommendation for hotel before Cruise on Dream out of Port Canaveral

Hi All and thank you!
We are going on first Disney Cruise - aboard the Dream in Nov out of Port Canaveral

Could you recommend best place to stay and did you do taxi/Uber/planned ahead shuttle service - any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

We stayed at Country Inn and Suites with their park and cruise package. They DO have a shuttle, but between when we booked and when we stayed they changed it to "call 24-hours before" to book the shuttle rather than book when you get in. So the time offered was late - but they gave us the number for a taxi company (I've long since lost the card) that was fine to get there - less than $10 even with tip. No issues being picked up once back. My parents have used it a couple of times since and had no issues.

We stay in a WDW hotel (we use Magical Express from the airport) and use the DCL shuttle (from the resort and then to the airport).

This is what we do, also.
The best for DH is not having to schlep bags at all.
The best for me is being close to Mickey. We don't always do parks, but we enjoy the resorts and Disney Springs. I love getting into the Disney spirit before the cruise.

We've stayed at the Residence Inn Hotel Cape Canaveral. We get a 1-bedroom suite. Nice rooms. Nice pool. Check-out time is noon, which is perfect. Hot breakfast included. It's directly across from the port. We self park at the port, but you can park your car on-site and take the shuttle if you wish.

how many of you are in your party? Are you flying in to MCO?

We have 6 adults, 3 kids and yes flying in MCO...2 days early so thinking of staying close to downtown disney and then shuttle over to port in morning.....thanks so much for help!
