We will be staying offsite in november and won't have the dining plan. It will be me, husband, and nine yr old son.

can you recommend any table service restaurants that are actually woth the money (since we wont be using the ddp)?

we plan on doing ohana on my birthday but what other restaurants should we do that are actually woth the money? we were thinking Whispering Canyon dinner for the skillet but that can get pricey. we don't mind spending the money if it is really worth it.

thanks for all the suggestions!

We love WCC. My husband gets the skillet and loves it. It is a must do for every trip.
I usually get the ribeye, since I am not a big BBQ person. It is very tender and tasty, one of the best steaks I have ever had.

The antics are fun and it is a nice place. It does get loud at dinner time and kids run around, so if that is something that would bother you I would reconsider.

But we love it.

We won't have the dining plan on our next trip either and have decided to do most of our TS meals at lunch. The lunches are more reasonably priced and the menu is often similar to the dinner menu.

On our last trip we enjoyed 50's Prime Time at DHS. It wasn't too expensive and had large portions.

Ohana is a great choice, our favorite breakfast. You may want to try Sci Fi at DHS, I have a 4 an 10 yr old, they love it, pretty inexspensive and fun

Kona Cafe has great food, great desserts, and great service. 'Ohana also has great food and the atmosphere is totally fun. Those are my current two favorite TS spots.

Personally I don't think Ohanas is good, at all, but some people on here like it, so I dont think its worth any money :lmao:
I recommend:
California Grill (but it is on the expensive side), Kona Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, Tutto Italia, Yak & Yeti, Crystal Palace for breakfast.

We've never done the ddp OR stayed on-site, but we've always managed to book a few table service meals anyway. We usually just have snacks for lunch and then do a big dinner, but I've always heard doing lunch IS cheaper. It just gets to be a long day when you don't have much after lunch!
Our favorites for dinner are: 'Ohana, Cape May (not just for seafood lovers), and Crystal Palace. This year we're also adding Liberty Tree and Garden Grill. In the past we have done H&V, but haven't been very happy with the food.
Good luck to you! Hope you have a great time choosing! :thumbsup2

Hi! We are usually on the dining plan, but that means we eat at quite a few table service places. I agree with Sci Fi for the entertainment factor. Your DS will probably love it! The burgers are HUGE & very good, too.

I love Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch, a little pricey, but the food is excellent. Liberty Tree Tavern at MK has a good varierty, & again, the food is very good. Beaches & Cream at the Yacht & Beach Clubs is fun & reasonably priced. The Plaza restaurant at MK has a similar menu & prices, but not quite as fun atmosphere.

If you are just looking for huge portions, Planet Hollywood, Rain Forest Cafe or T Rex at Downtown Disney would fit the bill. And they all have some entertainment value, too.

Have fun deciding! :)

When we had the skillet at Whispering Canyon the meat was fatty and gristly, and the corn on the cob tasted frozen. It was the worst meal I have eaten at WDW. I would recommend Kona Cafe.
