My husband and I are taking our 8yo niece to Disney next September. Its her first visit! She is crazy about the princesses and I know going to a character meal or two(or 3 ;) ) will save us a lot of time rather than waiting in line at the parks. Just wondering what is your favorite character meal for meeting the princesses and who is there. TIA!!

We love the Princess Storybook Breakfast or lunch at Akershus!:rotfl: It is our favorite! We also enjoy dinner at 1900 PF!

Dinner at 1900 PF. The buffet is typical Disney but the Characters are fun! Cinderella and Prince Charming dance and the step sisters are a hoot!!

Ditto Akershus. We like breakfast the best.

The 'usual' (although it could change) princesses are

Belle - as greeting princess (sometimes it's Aurora - sleeping beauty but I'd say 99% of the tiime it's Belle)

Ariel

Cinderella

Snow White

Jasmine

It's a great meal and the princesses are wonderful!

We also enjoy the 1900 Park Fare dinner but there's only one princess there (Cinderella) and her prince and of course the stepsisters/ stepmom.

My coworker has 2 young daughters who love the Disney princesses. I suggested to her to either make reservations for Akershus or CRT. CRT is on the expensive side, and it would have probably been booked up anyway. So she went with Akershus for lunch.

When she came back, she kept thanking me for suggesting it to her! She said the food was really good and the girls absolutely loved it. They got to meet Belle before sitting down. I can't remember all the princesses that came around, but I do remember her mentioning Ariel and Jasmine. It can change on different days though.

There is nothing more magical than eating in the Castle, so I would definitely go for CRT as one of them, even if it is on the expensive side. She will get to meet Cinderella before going upstairs and then other princesses float through to each table while you are eating. We met Jasmine, Sleeeping Beauty, Snow White and Belle when we were there 2 years ago.

We are doing CRT again in November and adding Akershus, too, this time!

I think that I would book CRT and 1900 PF dinner. I just think that eating in the castle, with the princesses, during her first trip would be one of those magical memories that she will never forget. I'd do 1900 PF because the step family is hilarious and at 8 years old, she'd probably really get their humor and that will make for great interaction.

Agree. Also included is a picture with you and your children with Cinderella.
It counts as 2 credits but worth it. You eat and meet all the princesses at the Castle. THE CASTLE.

We took our dd10 to see the princesses at Akershu's for breakfast and were sure glad we did! She love the interaction and it turned out to be such a time saver when it came to waiting in lines, just like your wanting to do. :goodvibes
I had ressie's at CRT and Akershu's and she picked Akershu's because she wanted maximum princess time (at the time they didn't have all the princesses at CRT) and food that was known to be better. CRT isn't always known for good food and is insanly expensive for just the experience of being in the castle. If your wanting to be in the castle then this is where you should go, but most say they are glad they tried it but wouldn't do it again because of the cost and lack of good food for the money. :confused3

I'll also put in a vote for 1900 PF. The stepsisters absolutely steal the show though.

Plus DD got to dance with Prince Charming, which she loved.

We've gone to the Akershus for dinner twice (2 different trips), and both times it was Ariel at the entrance with Aurora & Belle doing the rounds.

Castle - hands down. Yes, its pricey, but c'mon, how often will you have the chance to eat in a castle! We eat in the castle first day every time we go and it never gets old. My daughter and I both tear up just walking thru the gates and to the castle. Sorry, TMI

If you can swing the extra cash to eat at CRT, I would go with that. The experience of eating in the castle is worth doing once. We ate there almost 2 years ago. There is a picture with Cinderella (included in the price) before hand and the princesses were I think Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle (in her blue and white outfit)and Jasmine.

If you can't swing the extra for CRT, Akershus is pretty good to. The cost of the meal also includes a picture, this time it was with Belle in her yellow dress. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Ariel with her "land legs" visited the tables.

We have not done 1900 PF for dinner yet, so I cannot comment on it (breakfast is pretty good there, but no princesses). I have heard the character interaction there is good.

Also, if you are looking to save a bit, breakfasts tend to be less expensive than lunch or dinner.

If you are on the DDP, I would even consider paying for CRT OOP and then using a TS credit on Akershus or 1900 PF.

1900 PF for dinner was our favorite. For more princesses, Cinderella's Castle. Akershus was okay too, but not as much princess interaction for us. The wishing ceremony & a picture with Cindy in her castle is something everyone should do once!

We took our nieces, age 3 and 9 and again when they were 6 and 12 and they both loved the Norway breakfast...we had a great time and great food.

another vote for princess storybook dining! we went for breakfast last year. we met belle and had our daughter's picture taken with her upon arrival. ariel, cinderella, sleeping beauty, and snow white came to our table. we had lots of time with each princess. they made a big deal about it being my daughter's bday, and the waitress brought our picture to the table before we left. the food was good (especially that potato casserole...mmmmmmm.), and we were seated about 5 minutes past our adr.

we're doing breakfast at the castle and dinner at 1900 this year. can't wait for those....

good luck! hope they have LOTS of fun!!!

We did 1900 Park Fare right after they re-did the buffet a few years back and found the food to be so-so but the characters were great. But the only princess is Cinderella - the step sisters and step mother don't count! But having Prince Charming must count for something I would think.

Haven't done CRT in years since it is pretty pricey and the food wasn't that great. But when we did it my daughter was about 10 and loved eating in the castle. And at the time, it was the only place to get the Fairy Godmother's autograph. Now she is out signing behind the castle so you don't need to go to breakfast.

Best dollar value for us was Akershus breakfast. We weren't crazy about the lunch or dinner menu but have done breakfast twice. Once with two teenagers who had fun and last week with my eight year old niece who loved the princess time! We had Belle (greeting and picture included in price), Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, and Jasmine.

Thank you for all the wonderful reviews everyone!! Since we'll be on the dining plan, maybe we will just have to hit all 3 :)

Our daughter was 3 1/2 on her first visit and we did Akershus breakfast and 1900 PF. She loved both and don't let people fool you the Step mother, Step sisters and Prince Charming are worth to any little princess who has seen any of the Cinderella movies. Our daughter was blown away by Prince Charming!!! To see her blush when he took her hand was priceless! Hot tip try to catch the stepmother and stepsisters at MK just down from the right hand side of the castle at the little outdoor theater if before your reservation so that the little princess won't be afraid of or leery of the Steps at your dinner. They don't act mean but just the sight of them can be a little scary for the young ones. Breakfast only at Akershus unless you like the Norwegian food that is on the lunch menu. If you want CRT call as soon as booking opens or you'll probably be out of luck!

I haven't tried the others but my boyfriend and I enjoyed dinner at Akershus. Plus you get a complimentary photo at the beginning. Ours was with Princess Aurora.
