Recomended Tipping Amounts...Am I reading them wrong?

i think those recommmendations are bare minimums (unless you get really bad service)...
we had extraordinarily wonderful service from the head server (i.e. maitre d'), our waiter, the assistant waiter, the room host and his assistant (we had two room hosts as there's a lot to do in the concierge rooms).......
i tipped much much much much more than the recommended guidelines...
i felt they well deserved it....
they made our cruise the wonderful experience it was for us and i wanted them to know how much we appreciated them...the best way to let them know is by tipping them accordingly.....
i gave them cash sealed in the little envelopes given to you for that purpose (i gave cash because i prefer tipping cash).....the next morning they were effusive in their thanks.....i made it very clear to them that i felt the tip was very very deserved....
that they were the highlight of our cruise....

There is one other source of tips that I don't recall seeing mentioned. When you order alcohol or other "charged for" beverages in the diningroom you will receive a chit to sign. This has the automatic 15% just like in the bars or around the pool, etc. It is my understanding this is split between the head, server, and asst. but I could be wrong it might just be the server and asst.
