Recognizing DIS'ers @ the Parks???

Hi everyone,
How am I going to know if you are a DIS'er?
When I donated to become a supporter, they sent us two DIS pins for our lanyards. They're not Lime Green, just White with DIS Supporter on it.

Besides the Lime Green Mickey Head Paint Chips
is there any other way that I'm going to know you're a DIS'er?

Also, where on your body is a good spot to look for the identifying mark?

We're going to be in the parks the week of October 2 (also the beginning of YOAMD!) and I want to say Hello to as many DIS'ers as I can!

Before I say I'm going to wear this or that, I just want to see what the majority says.......

I take one of the lime green Mickey heads and do an "at home" laminating job...wrap it in packing tape! Punch a hole in it and use a zip tie to attach it to DH's backpack. It's small, but it's there!

I leave in 6 days and still have to make my small trek (it is literally under 2 miles) to Home Depot to get my LGMHPC to do "something" with....I plan on posting a basic idea of me and DH on the Happy Dance forum (I will be wearing 3 different hats, and he has a specific backpack--hopefully with a lime head attached and we'll be w/out kids) so that others may spot us and feel welcome to say HELLO

Okay, I will definitely do that....I think I still have the LGMH's from the last trip....I didn't think of "laminating" them and punching a hole in it!
I'll do that and attach it to my fanny pack and do the same for the backpack my DH will be lugging around...
Any other ideas?
I don't want to walk up to someone who just so happens to be wearing lime green and say, Hey DIS'er!

I made a few lime green Mickey heads from a punch I have, and I connected some cute beads to them and a little clip. I wore it and hoped I'd catch the attention of DIS'er. Nobody said "hi". I had made a few more and carried them with me to give to other DIS'ers, but it never happened. I didn't do it on my last trip. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of weeks.

I sometimes keep an eye out for these elusive lime green mickey heads but I gotta say that I have yet to see a single one.

I was anything but subtle. I laminated the paint chip and wrote MsLeFever on it. I met a couple of CMs that identified themselves as DISers - a woman at POP and a fella at the ice cream place on Main St.

Plus about 6 other DISers here and there. Mostly they introduced themselves since I made it so obvious I was a DISer. One woman I asked since she and her family were lined up behind me and their T-shirts had a definite DIS design feel.

Based on my experience, my advice is to be BOLD!

Someone even had a meet set up for the pub at UK in EPCOT a few years ago at a specific date and time. We showed up but no one else was there that you could identify as a DIS'er. I had my lime green bandana attached to my hip pouch and no one said anything to me. Guess they cancelled and didn't mention it before we left for the world. It would have been nice to meet someone.

Did run into someone with lime green ribbons on their wheel chair and asked them if they were DIS'ers and they didn't know what I was talking about. Said the ribbons were just to make it easier to find the chair. Told them about DIS. Don't know if they ever came on board or not.

Made up business cards with Web site addresses for DIS, AllEars, and Mousesavers to give out to friends and customers who talk about Disney. I may bring some along to WDW next week to give out to people down there.
Gotta love these boards.

Ours are laminated and we zip tie them to our bags (her backpack, my camelbak). We'll also tape one to our balcony window at our resort.

We were at CSR Aug 28-Sept 5 - one night I was doing some laundry and a couple came in both wearing lime green, so I build up my courage and say "are you wearing lime green for any particular reason?" - I think they thought I was insulting them for dressing alike - I tried to explain the whole DISboard thing but they probably think I'm some crazy-laundry-room-lady-stalker or something

There is a whole thread devoted to this over on the community board I think. Soory I don't remember for sure which forum it is on, I am subscribed to it, so i just click the link in my email to get there. There are lots of peeps over there coming up with ideas on how to spot disers. I will try to find an email that I got and post the link.

Tried in February. Had the mickey heads attached to my bag and stroller. Lime green bandana tied on our stroller with lime green ribbons. I kept trying to make conversation with people wearing lime green. They looked at me as if I lost my mind or they didn't speak English. Ends up they didn't speak English....a touring group from somewhere who were ALL wearing lime green so they could see each other better. Oh well. I'll try again next week! I'll have my LGMHs, bandanas and now I have a button with DIS on it and my screen name that another DISers made for me. Plus I ordered a DIS shirt. And from what I see.....almost the entire DIS community is going to be there the last week of September!

Just got back - Ditto the Mickey paint chip...
I laminated it with my DISboard name and stuck them in the stroller name slot and also to the backpack zipper - along with Lime green bandanas tied to both. I was sure that after 10 days someone would notice me - but nothing. All I got was flack from DH about carrying a backpack with a Lime Green bandana attached to it.
Going back in November - planning to give it another shot!

To stay OT, we're headed to the World on 9/29 and will be sporting some kind of lime green, or at least that's the plan. We'll be on the lookout for other DISers as well!!!

I think the lgmh is the best way to go, since lots of people wear lime green for no real reason. The lgmh is more significant to us dissers. However, they are small. A large lgmh on a tee shirt with your name on it is a good idea. I always put a huge lgmh with pampam on it that I've made from bristol board on my room window. You can see it from farrrrr away, but I've never gotten a response. However, I did meet a fellow disser once by wearing a small home depot lgmh. I usually put them everywear- bags, wallets, umberella's, everyplace I can, because they are tiny, and not too visible.

I've only every seen one lgmh, but didn't have the courage to say hi. that and DH was with me and isn't into talking ot strangers...
