??Recharge batteries(digital camera)

I was wondering....
For xmas my hubby bought me a Canon Power Shot S30 digital camera. It came with a rechargable battery.....I was wondering how long did yours last?
I am thinking of buying a extra rechargable battery for a disney trip. Because I take alot of pictures. I sure don't want to it to die out at the end of the day.

Well, I can tell you my experience and bear in mind I am new at digital phtoography.

For xmas, my dh bought dd and I Cannon Powershot S330. Love the camera and we just got back thursday from a disney trip.

We anticipated running out of battery time, so we took an extra battery along . Wow, I am SO glad we did that.

I took 200 picutres over 7 days and had to change the battery twice. DD told me night shot take more battery juice, too. Remember to take along your charger, too.

You'll love your camera at Disney! We took all our pix on one 128 mb card. Be sure you have enuf card space. Our picx were awesome.

We saw lots of the little Cannons cameras being used by visitors around the parks.

We bought a nice little camera case before trip at Ritz Camera made by LowePro. It is small, but has poockets for an extra battery, and a pocket for memory card. DD wore the camera case around the parks.

You both have wonderful cameras!!!! Do get an extra battery and keep in mind, when you use the LCD screen it sucks up the juice from the battery.
I carry two cameras with me. The Nikon 950 uses AA batteries, so I have the charger and three sets. The Nikon 5000 uses a different battery, I forget which one, but, I did find a great deal on a spare, so, I bought it. I also bring the charger (obviously) with me. I do find the 5000's battery last longer than the 950's AAs. I also purchased 2 128 mb cards plus the 32 mg and the 8 mg. We carry the laptop with us to download the pics. I fill those cards up very fast, LOL . I set it on fine cause I sometimes enlarge good ones.

hercamore, What did you have your camera set at?Large, Med1, med2 or small....
comparsion small, med and fine
I do have 16compact flash and 256 compact flash card....
The 128 card held 200 pictures?

On night...did you take pictures the spactro parade or fireworks?

Thank you both of your opinion on the battery...Well, I know what I will getting for mother's Day...

If you use your flash a lot, your batteries will go faster. I took my digi cam last year and was surprised by how fast the batteries went. I was really glad I took some backups! I forget that the LCD screen can eat up the batteries quickly. If you have an auto-off function, make sure you set it ... just in case you forget to turn off your camera
