Hello DISers-

Sorry for the late post but I have been busy since I returned May 20th. Anyhow, I wanted to post my recent experiences at the World.

About me & DD. We are West coasters, California to be specific and DL Vets. This was our second trip to the World and the best trip by far!

We only had 3 days in the parks as I was in FL for a conference and squeezed in 3 days as that's all the time I had available at the time.

The weather was hot but not unbearable. It only rained one out of 3 days and it was only for a few hours which wasn't too bad. It rained a lot more when we went last time in December so, I think spring is our new favorite time of year to visit FL.

We feared using the FP+ but actually loved it!! We got so much done when we used it. So, it was worth waking ap at 4am to schedule the FP's.

We park hopped on one day based on advise from other Dissers as my DD wanted to go on the Frozen ride so we for the very first time did rope drop at EP and did Frozen and Nemo and took pictures of all the flowers at the flower and garden festival and then went to breakfast at Tattoria Al Forno and then hopped to HS. It was a great plan and we only waited 15 minutes to get on Frozen w/o a FP.

Pixie Dust given during our trip -

We were given so much Pixie dust I was amazed!!!

To start off we were given a FP for anything we wanted to use it for besides Frozen, 7 Dwarfs or ROL. We were given this for having to wait too long for a bus at the Grand Floridan bus stop which was such a wonderful gesture.

Secondly I had purchased a Mickey head backpack and requested to have it sent to my room so, I didn't have to carry it around. I realized an hour later I forgot to have my name embroidered on it. When I realized this I mentioned it to a CM and the CM asked me my name the color and font I wanted on the back pack. I told her and she asked me to return after 8:30pm. When I returned they gave me the back pack for free. I was wowed as I have never received anything free at Disney before!!

But that's not all... A CM handed my daughter a family sized popcorn after we were leaving Fantasmic. Again we were in shock.

But that's not all... At AK we had bought an ice cream and the stick was broken the CM handed me a new one and asked me to keep that one so, we handed the ice cream to an only child so, we could share. By now we think all CM's are so nice.

But that's not all... our last lay we were at MK and my daughter stopped at a cart to look at the light up Grad lanyard. After my DD asked the price and said it's okay and started to walk away the CM said hey when are you graduating as she saw her I'm celebrating button and she said in a couple of weeks and that's when the CM said hold on and started taking the tags off the lanyard and handed it to my DD and by now we are both in tears. We felt so loved at WDW.

But that's not all... The next morning we went to breakfast at Landscape of Flavors and the guy getting our food messed up and said the food was on him.

We received so much love and pixie dust at WDW. I am so amazed by this. I still get teary eyed sharing the kindness we received at WDW.

We had the Disney Dining plan which saved us a little money but not much. We ate at the following restaurants.

Sci-Fi Dinner Theater - Food was really good we shared the Bacon and blue burger and a NY Steak both were delicious. We had milkshakes with our meals as our drink selections. We loved the decor and ambiance in this restaurant. We will come back to this one as we really liked it.

Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show - We really enjoyed the show and absolutely loved the food here. I never like noodle salads and loved the noodle salad here. This was definitely worth 2 dining credits and we had front row seats on the side of the stage which was perfect!

BOG - The restaurants decor is absolutely beautiful!!! The breakfast food was good and the grey stuff cupcake was the best cupcake I have ever had at a Disney place. I am some what of a cake snob as I am a HUGE fan of nothing bundt cakes and this was right up there in the ranking!

1900 Park Fare - We had the breakfast buffet. The food was good and the Strawberry soup was yummy.

Tattoria Al Forno Bon Voyage Breakfast - The food was good but the service is really slow here and you have to wait a really long time to be seated even with an ADP.

The Hotel we stayed at was ok. they beds were so so but the walk to the little Mermaid building which we got the farthest building from the main hall was horrible. I think all staff were really nice but I prefer POP to AoA. I really like the cafeteria at POP and the fact that they have preferred rooms that you can pay a little extra to stay a little closer to the main building. We stayed here as my DD really wanted to stay in the Mermaid room as she is a HUGE fan of Ariel.

Anyways we hope to come back in a few years as we had an amazing time. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer.

Wow! You really were pixie-dusted! Glad you had such a wonderful time and managed to squeeze Disney in with your conference. I'm glad to hear you liked Spirit of Aloha. I'm bringing my 84 year old father next March, so it will be a low-key trip. This sounds like something he could enjoy!

We both really enjoyed it. I'm sure he will as well.

Sounds like a great trip full of Disney magic!

Glad you enjoyed FP+ - we are fans and fully realize it changes how you have to plan for a trip but think if you embrace it there are some real advantages

I agree. I think being from CA our busy lifestyle in the Silicon Valley we don't like to plan as much when vacationing as that's the time to get away from scheduling. So, I was surprised on how much I liked it. I mean you plan out the initial FP's but after that your not really planning as your just figuring it out as you go along so, that part I really liked.
