Has anyone had recent villains lair experience? We are planning to go on 12/16 and wondering what the chances are of getting in to see the fireworks. Is it always generally busy with limited availability?

Can you still reserve time there?

Yes I think you can the Wicked Wind Down but it’s $59 each and includes appetisers I think but we have Steakhouse 71 before so would only want a drink up there.

To be honest, we just went there a while back. We were able to walk in to see the fireworks (on a slow weekday). The only reason we went was to say we did. The fireworks were fun, but everything else was pretty underwhelming.
If you aren't seeing the fireworks, it isn't worth the time to go up there.

Seeing fireworks should not be an issue. Getting a seat in the lounge or bar can be difficult if the tables are all booked for the paid event.

Thank you both so much for your opinions. The other option is to cancel Stk house 71 and book Wicked Wind Down but can’t figure out if that will be enough food to fill is for the eve!

As I recall, last year we did Steakhouse 71 and went up for Wicked Wind Down a couple hours later. I don’t think the appetizers are enough for a full meal, but you can order extra. We did end up taking desserts back to our resort.

Ummmmm. Can you please explain 'Wicked Wind Down' to me? i am embarrassed to admit that this is something totally new to me. I'd appreciate any insight as to the specifics. Thank you.

I rented some BLT points to a friend and he asked me about wicked wind down. Would he be eligible to go? He is not a DVC member but is staying on points.

DVC members only, and only those eligible for Membership Extras.

From the link @Akck posted:
"Eligible Members with access to Membership Extras can book this add-on daily—excluding holidays, special events and Fridays—when using their Membership to stay at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort."

That is what I thought but I told him I would ask. Thanks so much👍

So DVC is taking reservations for Wicked Wine Down for all dates? We'll be there next week.
I think there’s a dessert party on some nights, so those nights are excluded. Check the above link to see what’s offered on which night.

Is it easier to get in to Top of the World for the final hour it is Open , after the fireworks viewing hour?
(Open 6:00 til midnight )

We went on Tues Nov 7. We arrived and were seated at 7:00pm. We received a menu to pick one drink and shareable appetizer. We had three guests, and sharing the three plates made for a good meal. The dessert was the seven layer cake, which most of us took home in a box.

We ordered the appetizers by 7:15 (7:20pm at the latest), and they were served at 7:56pm. Yes, for a known fireworks ticketed event, they served the "main course" less than 5 min to fireworks!

We had the table for the whole night, or as long as we needed. Since the food drop was so very late, we were told there was no problem with holding the table through the fireworks. The late arrival of the food pushed our plans back 1-1.5 hours. We had post-WWD plans that had to get completely jettisoned, because the late drop pushed all of the WWD food courses post-fireworks.

Our server was really wonderful, and the host was just lovely. Front of house staff was really great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I don't fault front of house for slow kitchen/ kitchen problems. The food itself was tasty, and was room temp by the time we returned from fireworks. I didn't mind, but one of our guests anticipated that and took their hot food out by hand to enjoy during Fireworks.

Overall, I was glad to have tried out WWD. I was glad to have shared the experience with folks that wouldn't normally get to pop up there. I don't think I'll plan to book it again for my sake alone.

Thank you so much for your recent review of WWD. Other than the timing issues it sounds as though your visit was a positive one :)

I noticed you never got an answer to your question... In my experience, the Lounge really empties out after the fireworks. I doubt there is ever a problem in the late hours, prior to closing.
