Recent stays at Star Island?

We just booked this place for October. I guess we are getting a three bedroom suite?

Has anyone stayed there recently? What did you think?

I'm a little nervous as this is my first stay off site. Figured we would have to try off site at least once. If I like off site, perhaps that means more Disney trips in the future.

Staying offsite can be wonderful, but not at Star Island. It's got the name Fairfield in it, but Fairfield does not manage the resort and in my opinion it is not up to Fairfield standards. Seems that the owners kicked FF out for another management company to save money. Well if they were saving money on management perhaps they should have spent those saved dollars on upkeep. The place looks worn and at one time it was quite a nice resort.
