"Inconclusive" is an actual result so I wouldn't try to read anything more into it.My theory is that they call a positive test "inconclusive" and then run the PCR so that they aren't sending people away with false positive rapid tests. But, that's just a theory.
Inconclusive typically means there wasn't enough sample collected. As the school nurse puts it "get plenty of boogers on there." With the antigen tests it can also mean a defective test (doesn't show a "Control" line), or not enough or too much solution applied.
